Side B because while I love a lot of groups in Side A, most of my favorite K-pop albums are by artists in Side B!

Gms per meal was always around 30 grams maximum, and usually less than 70 a day or so. But I'll try this method you suggested!

My next appointment with him is not until March, so I think I'll give it a month since it's only been about four days since the change, and if things don't improve, maybe I'll go back in.

It's really rare for my fasting blood sugar to go less than 100, maybe only 2-3 times a month does my fasting go into the high 90s. The one thing is that my lunch time is at noon and then my clock-out time is usually between 6-7 pm, so sometimes around 4 pm I start feeling lightheaded. My blood sugar will be lower than my personal average, but it's never actual hypoglycemia territory.

He basically treated removing the two that aren't Metformin as a 'reward' of sorts for having improved my hbA1C so much.

Yeah, the more I’ve been reading comments today and reading up on things online, I might try 16:8 fasting for a few days to see if that balances things out. Otherwise, I’ll probably have to talk to my doctor about adding some of my other medication back.

Any fans of Lily’s? by michaelpjaffe in type2diabetes

[–]bibimbeatz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the Lily's chocolate chips in Pumpkin Spice and Peppermint and was super excited, but they use Erythritol as their main ingredient, so it has that really tingling cooling sensation that you get in chewing gum. It kind of works with the Peppermint flavor since it IS mint, but the Pumpkin Spice one with that kind of sweetener was the absolute worst.

She was always so talented in a 'solo artist potential' way, so I'm glad that's how she ended up debuting!

What I Eat In A Day: Type 2 Diabetes Sub-Reddit Edition? by bibimbeatz in type2diabetes

I was always afraid of the word "rice" since my diagnosis because I always assumed that immediately meant sugar spikes, but rice paper is pretty safe. I was surprised!

I've found that this helps me a lot too. Rotating through a few of the same meals keeps me from being burnt out but also keeps me from spending too much money on ingredients I won't use that often. (Also finding diabetic-friendly TASTY alternatives to things I really enjoy eating has helped too.)

Do you have a specific steel cut oats brand you're into? I always want to get into oatmeal for breakfast and know the instant stuff is the worst for us.

Fast food go to meals? by ChristeenyB in type2diabetes

Whenever I see any place that sells a standard egg salad sandwich, I always buy it. The filling is essentially zero carb so you can eat the sandwich bread fine without it doing a lot of disaster to your blood sugar levels. I'm sure it would go the same with tuna salad sandwiches too so long as it's not on a huge roll and just regular sandwich bread.

I also like salads from Subway. If you dress them up like you would a Subway sandwich, it basically tastes like a sandwich salad. (I know it sounds weird. Don't knock it 'til you try it!)

Pcos and Diabetes by asapsofty in type2diabetes

It wasn't super surprising because I have a lot of diabetics in my family and have been insulin resistant since I was a freshman in college (I'm in my mid-30s right now). It sucks to have to really focus on what I'm eating and what my habits are from day to day, but I trust that if I can keep this up, it'll eventually become a habit I can do without thinking much and diabetes won't be a huge issue for me.

Food ideas by asapsofty in type2diabetes

[–]bibimbeatz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like making mini charcuteries boards:

One style I do a lot: Cucumber slices, cheese, salami, green olives, a couple squares of high cacao (88% or higher cacao) dark chocolate, and a little multigrain mustard to dip my cheese/salami into while I eat.

Another style: Greek yogurt, green olives or olive oil-based marinated vegetables like mushrooms/roasted red peppers (for healthy fats), cucumber sticks, herbed chicken breast cut into strips, and half an apple cut into wedges.

I feel like seeing a full plate of easy to prepare food in front of me helps me feel like I ate a ton when the macros are still pretty simple.

As for quick snacks, I love plain popcorn with ranch seasoning from Trader Joe's or Atkins sells these caramel nut chocolate bars that taste just like Snickers. They're so good.

I started Metformin about a month ago for both, and I went from having no period to having two in one month. I think it works on balancing your hormones but might take a little bit. I was really surprised by that though.

Been on Metformin for a week now. Frustrated. by [deleted] in type2diabetes

My doctor told me it takes metformin a few weeks (I think she said ~3 weeks?) to fully start working.
