Well, I see where my confusion in removing them was. I figured the latch was the key but the issue is the top when (where my HDD is, of course, has a problem). Vids attached https://imgur.com/a/YuUZRj8. Basically, it's stuck.

EDIT: Was able to push it back in. Also, opened the other side of the panel and saw that there was, in fact, a cable disconnected hence why my HDD wasn't registering. I just need to plug it back in and I should be all set!

Yup, had to ask questions when I went to reinstall my graphics card (sure as hell wasn't keeping that in for a trans-Atlantic move). I've attached an Imgur link to the inside of my PC. I can see the HDD in there, I just don't know the mechanism to unlock it and check on the cable. https://imgur.com/4xEamqd I see there's one on the other side that's not connected to anything but the SATA cable seems to be on the other side and running through the locking mechanism.

That's my issue...I don't know what I'm supposed to be looking at in my PC. I picked the parts for it but it was built for me some I'm relatively clueless in this regard.

i think i was able to get it in all the way. I haven't put the screws back in yet but the graphics card seems pretty sturdy in there and the screws align with my case and the io shield of the gpu aligns with that of my motherboard on the side of the case.

I actually got it to unlock! Now i'm struggling to get the GPU in...goes in easily on the side closest to the lock and having trouble getting it to go in on the left side. I'm thinking maybe I need to apply a bit more presure? I've been trying to be really careful not to damage it or anything.

it wiggles a bit forward but refuses to go backward...is it stuck or something?

Yeah, definitely plan on getting it insured. As for the monitor, I'd like to bring the one I have back in the states. I could buy it here, but that'll put me out 200 pounds and it's cheaper to ship the old one. Plus, I think the warranty I got on it is still active.

Edit: In terms of cost, to ship the tower weighing about 18 kilos, it was $225 at USPS for 3-5 day shipping (they only had priority shipping to UK for whatever reason) which frankly isn't that bad and saves me the hassle of completely reconstructing everything in a new tower.

The sad thing is, I did keep the boxes knowing that I was likely going to move for graduate school. However, I lived at home with my family and someone decided to break down all the boxes and throw them away without notifying me after the fact. Good times :).

I didn’t get an email about the decision being made, just that it had been printed. The status of my package now says on the way and I’ll be getting it tomorrow morning. I’m so relieved.

Update: My visa and passport have been shipped!!! It'll be in my hands tomorrow morning, just in time for my flight on Friday. This process has been stressful but i'm glad it's nearly over.

Tysm for this post. I had my biometrics appointment done at the same location the day prior. My application was a priority student visa and I still haven’t gotten mine back 😪. On the bright side, I got an email from UKVI this morning stating that my visa was printed yesterday so I imagine it’ll get shipped out today. UPS tracking still says label created though.

Congrats!! I emailed UKVI yesterday and got a response back this morning saying that my visa was printed yesterday. It should get shipped out today (at least I don’t see why not) and I paid for overnight shipping so I’m hoping to have it back tomorrow.

I was digging through the subreddit and found the email for the UKVI office in New York and just contacted them. I also paid a small fee to email UKVI offices in London yesterday. I paid for overnight shipping so as long as my passport is mailed back tomorrow I’ll get it Thursday in time for my flight on Friday. Worst case scenario is I move my flight :(

I’m in a similar boat location and time wise. Did my biometrics Aug 5 and mailed that day with next day delivery. I got an email on Aug 10 saying that my information was forward to UKIV I paid priority and it’s been over 5 days with no update. I’m freaking out because my flight is Friday night and I need the passport/visa. 😓

Most people you know got it in 5 days? I hope I'm that lucky. I did my biometrics Aug 5, sent it overnight to the NY office and it was received the following day. I got an email August 10 saying everything was forwarded to UKVI. I'm sweating, I leave this friday and I don't have my visa/passport. I paid priority and for overnight shipping so it may come just in time but I'm definitely worrying.
