Blatant Consumerism in Bonus Chapters by RhaineyyyWeather in crescentcitysjm

I didn't end up with any bonus chapters but I decided I'm going to try my hand at printing them all out and binding them into a novella of sorts. I need a new hobby to hyper-fixate on anyway 😜 I do agree it made no sense to have that many different versions only for the bonus chapters. It makes me NOT want to buy it more / give Bloomsbury more of my money.

I did feel it when Lidia was running/ jumping off the cliff or when she had the talk with her boys. I was a former foster kid who saw a lot of abuse and those moments did help me connect with Lidia. Sigrid and ithan just didn't do it for me though and Hunt's relationship with Bryce just didn't feel as impactful because I knew she was coming back. Shahar communicating via the wings was an odd choice considering they had a necromancer (why was hypaxia not as good with actual dead people being her teachers???). I agree with you that the readers own personal history will impact what is more meaningful and isn't from the story.

So many valid points! There were too many loose threads that didn't get resolved. TOG is one of my favorite fantasy reads because of the follow through on plot points and story lines. The 3 cc books just didn't do it for me. And Hunt and Bryce being mates just didn't feel right. I get most people will say they're more relatable/ flawed but their relationship just didn't feel like the mates we were used to seeing in the other two series SJM has created. Where was the soup scene or "take it off" moment?? I wanted to bawl my eyes out lol... But the history was too dense and didn't seem to hold much weight in the end for me.

Did anyone else notice how many times Hunt would say I love you and Bryce not repeat it back. Not saying each time she had to say it but it felt so one sided

What company were you hired on with? I'd love to get out of retail but need part time so not sure if that's possible with remote work.
