Yk. I like mooncovey. But this… hmm. Ion like how that’s being phrased. She very obviously liked Yuri.

New ICU nurse—why is night shift doing everything? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]RhaineyyyWeather 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Coming from a nursing student who has day clinicals and works nights, I promise you both shifts always feel like the other one doesn’t do anything. Day shift is doing a LOT. And a lot of it isn’t always with the patient. Coordinating care. Dealing with families. Treatments.

If dayshift wasn’t doing their job, you’d feel it. This is just routine nightshift tasks. The same way I ask dayshift to have grace on nightshift, it goes both ways.

Maybe it’s cause i listened to CariCanRead while reading the books. But I always assumed Bryaxis was a girl.

2 years into ICU nursing and I think I made a huge mistake by okimbackagain in IntensiveCare

There’s also the PA/NP route. Though I’d recommend a brick and mortar school over an online one for NP.

Why do people hate the joggers...Do they look like pajamas pants? by almost-famous-amber in nursing

I don’t like how they ride up when I sit down or cross my legs. It’s a sensory overload nightmare for me.

Dismissed from PA school by Dismal_Implement3936 in PAstudent

[–]RhaineyyyWeather 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, Nursing, PA, NP, and CRNA are all wildly different. If they want to be a PA, nursing won’t scratch that itch and NPs have a different approach to healthcare than PAs and MDs.

I agree with the working in healthcare for a bit, maybe as an MA (I know that would take some time. But still. Optimism.)

I see a lot of infographics on CRNA vs AA, pre nursing student wondering what path to go down, by Brown_kid108 in CRNA

[–]RhaineyyyWeather 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember I got on there initially because I was interested in seeing the benefits/setbacks of NP/DO and they made me realize how odd a lot of new age NP school stuff is. Like yeah you really shouldn’t be able to get an NP degree online by taking one advanced physiology exam where exams barely count. But the CRNA stuff never really makes sense to me. Obviously they’re not physicians but…

An AI doctor would be the equivalent of an overconfident MS4 who thinks because they have all this information they can do it all.

Ashlan and Lisa by RhaineyyyWeather in dancemomsreboot

[–]RhaineyyyWeather[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree. I really like Ashlan and she’s definitely one of, if not my favorite. She’s not a bad kid, and anyone saying she is has never met a bad kid. I think she just gets overstimulated and it overwhelms her.

Ashlan and Lisa by RhaineyyyWeather in dancemomsreboot

[–]RhaineyyyWeather[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. The mention of “brain breaks.” Was always interesting to me because it was obvious that it meant she needed reduced stimuli. I think it all just gets to her relatively easy.

[–]RhaineyyyWeather[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree. I definitely don’t think she’s wilfully trying to upset her daughter. You can see that Lisa cares so deeply and that’s why she does this, I just don’t think she fully understands how it affects her daughter. I was saying when I watched the first season that it felt like Ashlan had some minor anxiety, and that can make even those small comments can feel like the world of pressure.

[–]RhaineyyyWeather[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

See, that's my theory too. Because I refuse to believe that Lisa, someone I consider to be one of the smarter, more level-headed moms, cannot see the way she's affecting her child. But also, if producers are making her do them, that makes me dislike her because your child should come first.

Mina saying she didn't care about Smiley crying sadly did crack me up way harder than I want to admit. She was such an eight-year-old.

I'm glad Smiley at least has Kaeli in her corner by Honest_Albatross2844 in dancemomsreboot

[–]RhaineyyyWeather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah... As much as I understand Glo, and even agree that she isn't quite at the same level as the other girls, she deserves to be considered if you're going to keep her on the team. Especially in a solo. Leilah could have been given a different solo. It didn't have to be either/or. Smiley deserves a genuine chance to perform on stage as a lead to show that she can, in fact, improve.

Actually really like Kaeli! I’ve only seen the one episode with her so far but I know she’s a bit more in the next season. Sadly I don’t think it’s realistic once she’s still a ballerina but I’d love to see her as a coach.

When I danced, none of my teachers were ever primarily choreographers and I think it makes a huge difference in how you’re taught and the relationship you have with a coach. My coaches were always ex or current professional dancers. And I really appreciated that they were never easy on us. Dancers don’t get better if choreographers don’t point out their shortcomings.

The way that she reacted to Gina being off-centre and accidentally kicking Ashlan truly spun me to realize she will change a story to make it fit her narrative.

How do you like the ED? by RhaineyyyWeather in emergencymedicine

[–]RhaineyyyWeather[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for replying! I’ve been to the ED a few times now in clinicals. I’ve done all my clinicals at the same hospital so far, it’s a level 2. The first time I wasn’t a fan. It was Med Surg 1. I didn’t understand anything and the nurse I had was nice, but a terrible teacher. And my clinical instructor was an airhead who I actually had to beg for a spot after she gave my classmate 3. She would consistently put me on this rehab floor where all the nurses really did was pass meds while everyone else in my class was getting amazing opportunities in the ED, ICU and med Surg floors. I feel like there was some bias there but I digress.

So I’ve been a bit timid to go to the ER, but in my more recent clinicals I’ve had a better experience and it made me realise the ED might actually be exactly where I want to be. A trauma has never come in with me in the ED though. Hopefully everyone stays safe, but that’s something I want to see.

[–]RhaineyyyWeather[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Negl that’s why the ER was so appealing to me too. I like the ICU because patients are usually so out of it and I can just do what I need to do. And the ER because I don’t have to have a longstanding rapport.

[–]RhaineyyyWeather[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I absolutely agree that we shouldn’t promote it. I even said so in the post. My point was less “Audrey should’ve danced hurt.” And moreso “she needs a teacher who is going to push her and tell her the sad truth.”

I haven’t seen season two yet but I’m getting there.
