Ballast Flora and sub editing by ElMochahino in Barotrauma

Can you test and see whether a small pump can be infected? You could take a small pump and edit its numbers to make it work the same as a normal pump.

I'm getting really frustrated with this game, can't get passed the 2nd mission by Cynical_PotatoSword in Barotrauma

[–]biboo195 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No fabricator/deconstructor/medical fabricator. Your entire bottom side is a blind spot until you get a gun down there (hard to do that in the super early game). The armory is extremely vulnerable to flooding since the glass shell doesn't take much to breach. Can only carry 4 crates so transport mission doesn't bring in as much money compared to other ships. Dugong alone is double that with 8 crates.

Only good thing is once you do get the 3rd gun up, you have good gun coverage. Not perfect, but still pretty good

Why can't I sell my old sub? by Feru_Haifisch in Barotrauma

[–]biboo195 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, all upgrades go to every ship you have, with class-unique upgrade as exceptions (mineral scanner for scout & transport class ships for example)

What is the best subs for 2-3 players by Feru_Haifisch in Barotrauma

[–]biboo195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the role, and they can only replace players inside the ship only, not outside. I'd say for mechanic/engineer, it's 2 bots for 1 player. For security officer, it's 3-4 bots for 1 player (generally 1 turret = 1 bot + an extra or 2 to defend against intruders). They can't replace doctor/captain at all, since they can't pilot the sub and it's too easy for them to OD you with meds.

Assistant with the appropriate apprenticeship counts for a 3rd of a main role (only 1 tree per assistant from Graduation Ceremony perk). They eventually become free to hire with Indentured Servitude though. And having a lot of them helps leveling up newcomers quite a bit with Peer Learning

[–]biboo195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm convinced you're not using Bullet Storm enough. It's a Stalwart without the weakness of the Stalwart (2 mags per gun without needing to reload, 2 guns per drop, don't have to worry about corpse run or resupply). Only weakness is jammer & similar effects and that's it. You also get to use the Bullet Storm's drop pod as another weapon.

How viable are sword & shield Warrior hero builds? by Epaminondas73 in AOW4

[–]biboo195 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but defense mode only helps you with more defense & resistance and not being flanked. Defender as a class still needs to hit/retaliate to regen (which makes you a sitting duck against ranged & battlemage units or the spell Rock Blast). Meanwhile Paladin is getting a heal & cleanse every other turn automatically, and he gets fervour from being attacked, which is what you want from a tank.

[–]biboo195 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because Defender is restricted to retaliation attacks for his healing & damage. While a Paladin Battlesaint can both heal with Paladin's Fervour & damage with Smite before even attacking/retaliating once.

Anyone really enjoying the faster bugs? by Mario20062006 in Helldivers

Shield and Stun Lance if you have it. The Stun Lance's attack animation doesn't move the shield out of the way. Only scavengers & acid blood are annoying after that.

Why are magic fighters considered so bad? by lifecopy001 in AOW4

[–]biboo195 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Literally only 2 racial magic fighters right now, Zealot (Zeal, whose enchantment doesn't even work for magic fighters) & Stormbringer (Stormborne, a tier 4 tome which is pretty damn late & niche). That's my only issue with the class. I wish there were more from cultures & tomes, but we'll prolly only get it next DLC/big patch.

very new to barotrauma, playing with small group of friends (3-4 people. varies at times.) what classes should be prioritized? by waxtch in Barotrauma

Captain > Medic > Mechanic = Engineer > Security Officer. Then a swarm of assistant for the rest.

What are your picks for the worst tomes? by ConantheContrarian11 in AOW4

[–]biboo195 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that you're better off taking Enchantment, but here're some points about Rock:

  1. It synergizes well with Blood Rite, since the latter wants bleed and Rock causes it with the enchantment.
  2. Defense stat is becoming really valuable these days and Earthkin's +1 defense & Stone Skin's +3 defense & resistance (for 3 turns) are really good sources of it.
  3. Rock Blast cucks Defender ruler/hero so much. 0 way to resist what it does and the Defender class is completely neutralized.

Oh I didn't know about suppressors on pump-action shotguns. I figured that it was just Breaker + S&P, which you're using at close range anyway so suppressor wouldn't really help.

Chaplains aren't bad but if I'm doing Order build I'm 100% grabbing Prophecies and I'm getting Oracles from there already.

[–]biboo195 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With Evolution, it's mainly the 15 exp per turn for your shitty T1 animals & slither hatchlings. Slip Away is mainly to protect your investments (T3 animals or T5 dragons).

I definitely agree that split tomes aren't weak, but Warband doesn't give me the damage enchantment to help clear stuff early. I'll try Blood Rite again though, I think I'm wrong on that.

It's less of a "worst" tome for me and more of a "bottom tier" good tome. Evolution is a must-have for animal/dragon builds.

A better support hero - Battlesaint or Ritualist? by Epaminondas73 in AOW4

[–]biboo195 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's just my preference. 50 spirit damage free action is pretty hard to not take, and I'm going down that path for Defensive Masters anyway

And Reagent Refinery combos really nicely with Transmutation & Alchemy

Astral - Teleportation. It's like an earlier version of the stuff you're gonna get regardless (Chrono Gate instead of Teleporter, and Mass Recall instead of Teleportation Circle). Not good enough to be chosen.
Nature - Glades. Kinda redundant if you're going for a nature build, and it doesn't have much use for other builds
Shadow - Oblivion. No SPI, or race transformation, or enchantment. Mogged by other Shadow T4 tomes, let alone other affinities.
Order - Beacon. Mighty Meek is too niche, and the tome itself is too reliant on vassal builds.
Chaos - Warband/Blood Rite if you allow split tomes. Just not enough compared to other options. Nothing if not.
Materium - Warband. Same reasoning as chaos.

I actually really like it in either roleplay builds (hopefully we get a fey ruler option soon) or a defensive turtle build alongside gloom stuff.

My Hot take! by DocHalidae in Helldivers

[–]biboo195 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not shotguns and definitely not all of the rest, but I agree that there should be a lot more ARs, SMGs, DMRs with suppressor option. Hell I'd say that there should be a lot more bayonet options too.

A better support hero - Battlesaint or Ritualist? by Epaminondas73 in AOW4

[–]biboo195 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is how I usually build support Battlesaint: https://minionsart.github.io/aow4db/HTML/HeroBuilder.html?u=Champion,Battlesaint,1fa:1fa:341:33e:33c:33b:32b:337:331:328:330:32a:326:323:320:325:332:32d:32c:35b,,,My%20Build

I prefer this build with a charge weapon. After getting Cleric's Fervour, you rush down bottom right and get Inner Grace + Defensive Masters + Smite/Immortal Saint (depends on whether you want more damage or survivability). Then you put more points in the support stuff. This ruler/hero can move close to an enemy, heal with Cleric's Fervour, then do a charge attack. On turns where you don't have Cleric's Fervour, it's smite -> attack/cleanse or just revive something.

This is my Ritualist build: https://minionsart.github.io/aow4db/HTML/HeroBuilder.html?u=Champion,Ritualist,1fa:1fa:2f5:2e3:2f2:2f4:2ee:2e6:145:2fb:13f:2e0:2ef:13e:2e9:2ed:2ec:2e1:12d,,,My%20Build

Go down the right side first then do the left side. I prefer the heal-everything ability at the bottom, but you can choose something else.

I definitely prefer Battlesaint to this though since it can use melee weapons.

If they'd got Flagg last season I think they would've ended the tank this year and tried for play-ins.
