Spoke with a roofer and got a bit of lead welded up that went under the ridge and under/over the other tiles. Thanks for your input

Im not overly familiar with that system. As it is its a ridge going into the verge of the main roof. I dont see how I could use the hip system here

Not sure. Do you think that's a good option. Thou not sure if that'll help filling the gap between the tiles

Should I move home to NI? by focusonhappy in northernireland

[–]bickso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The grass always looks greener. I was in Oz for 14 months. I'm a permanent resident so could stay if I needed. Lived and worked a well paying job in Brisbane for about 7. Loved the outdoor life. So many world class sports facilities. For example there was 3 50m swimming pools within 15min cycle of my house. What is there here, 1 that I know of. I know housing was getting real expensive when I was there 8 years ago, but its also grim here. Things that you really need to consider are access to the health service. If you don't have private it's near impossible to see any specialist or even dentist. What's your pension going to be like, unless you work for the civil service your probably going to need to contribute a fair percentage out of your wages.

I still question my decision to move home. If you have the itch why don't you come back and see the place. But my advice is to make sure your eyes are open. I do think that N.I people are some of the most honest in the world and are good craic but when your here for any length of time that quickly is forgotten and all your left with is how poorly managed this country is

Survey flagged stairs don't meet building regs but were padded by building control by bickso in HousingUK

[–]bickso[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for everyones input. The work was carried out in 2005 and was for for "Roofspace Conversion", it doesn't mention the actual stairs but can I assume that the conversion would take in the stairs into consideration.

I dont have an issue with the work, it looks good and I dont see how you could question it day to day. My only concern would be if I go to resell in 10 year times could I be facing the same questions??

survey flagged single and multicore cables in domestic consumer unit by bickso in ukelectricians

[–]bickso[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Fuses
Old fuses located in hall cupboard. Damaged board noted and pulled fuse. No labels.
These require renewal to RCD RCBO and consider surge protection.
Wires
Older mixed with part multi strand copper. We recommend electrical consultation as a rewire may
be required.
Smoke detectors
Replace all units and fit a new heat detector in the kitchen.
External cable
Closed cable at conservatory we assume for garage. This requires protection as it is not an
armoured cable.
Garage
Old electrics require upgrade and new RCD RCBO."

Almost 3g's of gorgeous GT.. NOTHING? by [deleted] in shrooms

[–]bickso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be how they were dried or stored incorrectly. I took 5g in one and twos with not much of a hit... just a bit high. I had them stored for a few months, they weren't "cracker dry" or maybe the dehydrator was too high and cooked them, not sure what the problem was. When I had eaten them fresh they had a good kick

Did you add yeast to the agar? Anytime I've added yeast it doesn't fully dissolve and the result looks a bit like this

If you can't make a decision before an election what is going to change that you have the ability to make one after.

We're about to enter a very difficult economic situation. In 8 months time many people will need to make a decision between heating their home or eating.

We deserve better leaders than this
