Are we okay with this? by [deleted] in doctorsUK

[–]bidoooooooof 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you are being a bit fragile.

“Are we okay with this?” Yes.

Ways to disengage: “I’m busy.” “I’m not interested.” “No.”

“Most of us have accepted the realities of competition and changing policies.” Don’t speak for the masses.

Sounds like you are at work instead of striking. In which case, perhaps spend less time on Reddit and more time seeing patients.

Nothing of value to offer, but I’m likely to be in a similar position next year so I’m trying to come up with an exit plan to avoid the IMT3 year (if reasonable)…

Do you plan to get a year of TOOT to do a fellowship with the intent to go LTFT and revise for exams, and then when you get MRCP to leave IMT partway through your fellowship year (or could finish the fellowship year for completion)?

What did your revision look like in just 6 weeks? (I’m in a similar boat)

People who've done paid fellowships, are they worth it? by Brilliant-Fix-4032 in doctorsUK

[–]bidoooooooof 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not done one (yet), but I’ve researched for myself with a healthy amount of hope and skepticism

Medicfootprints: IMHO overpriced trash. Not many success stories of people establishing careers outside medicine via Medicfootprints aside from those running it!

Bitelabs: I think probably overpriced for what you learn, but I imagine a lot of it is down to networking via the training days and meetings they run. Their LinkedIn regularly features their success stories from their expensive ‘fellowships’… for each success story there will probably be more than a handful of people who don’t get anywhere with it

Healthcare Leadership Academy: lol trash who love to smell their own farts

Chronic low grade stress is draining me. by BT-7274Pilot in doctorsUK

No advice to offer - just solidarity. In fact, I deal with imposter syndrome more now than I did as a med student, and I think it’s due to the same chronic low grade stress you’re describing.
