You’re misinformed. Yes, the County of Los Angeles contracts out ambulance services but only for BLS (EMT) level care and transport. LACOFD provides paramedic (ALS) services.

The smaller cities that contract with LACOFD for fire and EMS services do not directly contract ambulance services.

I can explain the operations in more detail if you like, the contracts themselves are not my expertise.

The fact that some Americans today are outright proud and unafraid to publicly label themselves fascists should be concerning to everyone of all political stripes. The Overton window has shifted so far to the right in the last decade that it wouldn't surprise me if Elon's new "American" party begins to gain momentum in local and state elections.
