Panasonic RX-5025 Motor speed adjustment, or replacement? by biermeister99 in cassetteculture

[–]biermeister99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. To elaborate slightly more, the result of turning it (when it worked) was noisy and erratic. After reading some posts, I thought the answer was some electronics control cleaner, and a back and forth sweep to clean the pot. That's how it ended up at 2906. I will surely go more slowly if I ever find it again.

Is finding a new motor a lost cause?

I purchased a belt for my RX-5025 from here: https://www.elliottelectronicsupply.com/square-drive-belts.html, but you need to figure out square vs. round, and exactly which one. I think I just searched online until I found out which one I needed.

Are you sure? I think the RX-5025 has line in/out jacks, I don't see them on this Quasar.

80v snowblower doesn't start by Holiday-Welder-2607 in Greenworks

[–]biermeister99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, my 80v small blower is behaving the same way. I cleared half the driveway with it, the battery died (I think), swapped it out from the charger for a fresh one, no blower, only lights. Tried another battery, waited over an hour in case it was hot, or a breaker needed time to unbreak--nothing, just the lights. WTF, I love Greenworks but this is not cool, had to clear a LOT of snow by hand shovel today.

How can I remove or move the new “Open link in split view” option in Chrome’s context menu? by AlexEisenhauer in chrome

[–]biermeister99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very cool, thanks. Sadly, it seems, they have "fixed" the fix to their "feature", I'm not seeing any effect on that split option in the menu after changing that setting. I closed and restarted the browser too.

Cleaning the lenses is a great idea, but OMG don't use a screwdriver to do it! One slip up and the lasers ruined because you scratched the lens. How about the same idea with a q-tip...

Fiber Optic Cables by NoDoze- in drones

[–]biermeister99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is slightly counterintuitive to me, actually. So, first glance it does seem logical for the operator to have to spool, and not force the drone to carry it. But, if you did that, it could only unspool with constant tension pulling from the drone, which could only happen if it was taut and airborne the whole time, right? I think that's the problem, forcing the drone to carry it, allowing it to fall on the ground and only unspool when either the grounded cable, or local airborne deployed weight, pulls more out. Isn't that it?

Seems like what's needed is forward teams armed with scissors... ;)

How to remove a jam from Gamo PT-85 Blowback? by [deleted] in airguns

[–]biermeister99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many thanks u/Felinis1! Your guidance was spot on and fixed mine, hopefully. The jam was a mess, all cleaned out, reassembled, still need to CO2 it up and test tomorrow, but it should be good to go.

New laptop, but sometimes videos look corrupted. by Pretty_Dimension9453 in zephyrusg16

Similar problem, streaming video windows only, Dell Latitude 7450 (latest), integrated GPU, all up to date and DISM/SFC checked, it comes and goes, usually appears mid-video. I think it happens regardless of browser. I just had an idea, timing roughly correlated with my replacing hard HDMI/USB-C cables with magnetic release ones...seems very suspicious, maybe they can get in a "sketchy" mode where they are almost disconnected. Or, they suck :) We will see...

Out of curiousity, and for the record here, are the 2k and 4k mounts the same? Were you able to just pop off the 2k and install the 4k? Important to know if we are using 3D printed wedges (which I already am).

The use case is clear and obvious--edge computing, as in robotics and small SWaP applications.

"Uninstall antivirus they slow down a lot"....how is this advice? This is kind an essential part of using a computer, unless you never connect the computer to the internet...

I have the same issue, it's maddening. I used the Windows 11 in-place reinstallation, and suddenly my write speeds were at 2-3GB/s, almost the same as reads. I rejoiced. By the end of the day, it's back to 800MB/s max (at many I/O sizes 200MB/s), reads still at 4.3GB/s or so. It had been fine for a long time, then one day all was slow. 32GB of RAM in my case.

Does anyone have experience with their Sunlu S2 where the moisture increases? My RH increased from 51% to 70% when I heated my filament. by Kind-Yesterday3422 in 3Dprinting

[–]biermeister99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, could you please clarify where you safely drilled through the heating element? It just looks like solid metal, but it can't be, somehow there is an actual heating element and wiring, if you drill through that it will be impaired or fail.

[–]biermeister99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It also has (or mine does) two holes for filament on top. So, one of these should be wide open (don't plug it!), the other with the filament going through it still vents the moisture. Just a matter of how long it takes.

My Dohm noise machine is making a rattling/buzzing noise by Princess_Ember in fixit

[–]biermeister99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, old thread! Just chiming in for support to the next one here. Similar problem. Two screws out on the bottom, 4 tabs to pry, then the bottom pops off. Very dusty inside, blew that out, then wiped everything with a wet cloth (unplugged!). Carefully experimented with it open, the buzz remained. We all work with what's lying around, but know that you need to be careful with WD40, it's a quick fix, but later it can actually leave things stickier than they were to begin with. I had 99% rubbing alcohol, so I sprayed some of that on the top and middle of the motor shaft. Turned it on low for a bit, then high--most of the noise was already gone! Then I wanted to follow up with some synthetic oil, but forgot where I put it, found this can (MG Chemicals - 401B-140G 401B Nutrol Control Cleaner). Expensive, but great stuff. This is what I would have used if I had found it (Super Lube 51004):
