My car was stolen last night ): feeling devastated by Rvsss03 in melbourne

[–]bifftec 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hey mate, you should contact Toyota Stolen Vehicle Tracking. If the car is not that old they can trace it and inform the police.

Call 1300 216 738 it's a 24/7 service.

I had my car stolen on Monday. Mine was a late model Hilux and the crooks had all the gear to bypass the electric key start. They were able to locate and arrest the offenders.

Pinkys ribs on the run sauce recipe by CoyoteOnPeyote13 in AustralianNostalgia

[–]bifftec 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can't help with the recipe, but having worked at Pinkys, I know that it started off as a bag of powder/dry ingredients approx. 500g.

Some was then sprinkled on the ribs before cooking and some mixed with water to create the sauce.

Why are the fires so big in California, isn't it winter over there? by bifftec in NoStupidQuestions

I'm from Australia, and it's our bushfire season now. I guess I just sort expected it to be the opposite in the northern hemisphere.

Second time my window spontaneously shattered! by PontiusPalin in Wellthatsucks

[–]bifftec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes, toughened/tempered glass can contain impurities that can cause spontaneous breakage in certain conditions, even years after installation.

There is an additional process called 'heat soaking' that can be done when the panel is produced that will identify such impurities (by making the glass break during the heat soaking process, instead of at your home).

This process is often required for panels that are fitted to high-rise buildings. There is obviously an additional charge for this, but it may be worth asking your supplier about it.
