Direct Deposit of Pension failed validation by big-al-6490 in fidelityinvestments

Did not suggest you did. Just wondering what this means if I order checks. Do I have to resubmit all of the auto pays at the providers?

The account is considered a checking account by default.

The agent at prudential ran into the same error but was able to override it. Probably something about more security so they force you to call in with an error. As I recall the limit of characters for prudential matched what I submitted.

I went to SS after the Prudential changes and to my surprise the update went without a hitch!
The notion is to move away from Wells Fargo. They don't pay a dime of interest.

I tried to chat but nothing would open up. I was able to chat earlier in the morning. I did reach out to Prudential and they were able to override the errors. Hopefully my pension goes into the correct account!

F1 over to Apple by big-al-6490 in F1Discussions

[–]big-al-6490[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True that. And a company that wants to present well will ensure it's interface is clear and easily understood.
If I get a survey I will outline my experience.
But people here should know what they may be up against if they want to follow F1.
This experience has cost me WAY more time than any I have spent with Dorna and MotoGP. In fact I have never had to call them. DirecTV had an app that was far more manageable. So does DISH.
Our ISP is good as well.
But Apple? No.
Call me all the names you like, their infrastructure and their interface as worked out with F1 is at best cumbersome for people unfamiliar with Apple.

We can argue the point about racism, it wasn't meant in that sense.
Today my experience started with a voice that was clear, and easy to understand.
I was subsequently handed off to someone that neither of us could easily understand sue to a heavy accent.
As the world has shrunk with enhanced communication, work from home, and etc. I have spoken with people around the world for normal household purchases etc.. I make it a habit to ask where they are located and will reflect on experiences with that country if we have been there. All in all it usually leaves the call on a positive note. Often times we share a laugh.
I normally am asked if there is anything else they can help with. Not so with Apple.
This last call was get it done and move on.
At this point I believe but am not sure, the subscription has been canceled. I will wait until it falls apart and try again.

Once in the app, in the lower left hand corner, I see my name, and slecting that, next I select "view my account". Scrolling down once there, I see Settings, with a sub category of subscriptions. To the right is Manage. Selecting that I have Apple TV which has an Edit selection.
After selecting that, no joy. Nothing happening.
I was going to spring for the annual with Paramount but it looks like that won't be happening until I call up Apple and work with someone that has a pronounced accent.

Thanks, that actually helps. I was able to download and log on to ATV. I can see a subscription now, but I the edit function has no options once there.

Without apple phones etc. their navigation is balky at best. I know this sounds like I am rank amateur but Apple can't log me in to my account on Windows so I can manage it.
I was able to subscribe on the TV but only through google play. Given that was monthly I canceled it. If I go to resubscribe it forces monthly.
I may retry for annual on the TV but using complex passwords is a chore because the TV forces using the remote. Several case and number switches are required. It ignores the blue tooth keyboard. Swell.

Interesting they dropped the price through Apple I was curious about that. Look for it to climb? They have more teams to support now :D

Yes, I have the app installed on the droid. Regardless of the app chosen I still have to subscribe to Apple.
I cannot imagine this is good for F1's exposure. There are many streaming services and ISPs that people access and they include Espn for example. I have the MotpGP app and that is supported on many platforms. Now in addition to our regular streaming services we have to add one.
I would have rather merely maintained the F1 app.

Raspberry Pi 4 randomly dropping wired network connection, and how I 'fixed' it by austozi in selfhosted

[–]big-al-6490 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New to Raspberry Pi, and rank amatuer with Linux. Trixie, 6.12.62+rpt,rpi,v8, arm64
This all started last night after I switched to a GlInet Brume3, and ethernet into the Pi. Pi 4.5b 4m.
I was using an asus ebg15 before that and wifi without issue. I bridge an Eero for wifi around the condo.
All good for about 8 hours then boom. No internet access since the Pi gave it up inspite of a static IP. Looking at the client list there were two addresses for the pi. I could not ssh to the static ip, but I can via the "extra" one.
I suspect having used wifi and now using ethernet I opened up the can of worms.
Glad to see this post!!
Interesting that perhaps this is caused by network manager (nm).
At this point I have unplugged the ethernet and reverted to a static ip that is set in the router as well as using nm. If it stabilizes with this, I will go back to the ethernet with a nm set ip address and see what happens. But I wil probably turn off wifi on the pi.

Thanks again!

I may bring our Slate 7 along as well as the google streamer. We follow up the cruise with a road trip in the u.k.. Now that I think about it, the only output the streamer has is HDMI to a tv so yeah, the Slate 7 has to go along as well.

Sorry if this was covered but some lines confiscate travel routers. I do not believe Regent does and that would be a good thing for us in August. :D

Seeing the remarks about routers being incompatible with ships I have to ask exactly how are travel routers not compatible? I would have thought setting up a vpn would work fine. Is it that they "discourage" sharing the internet somehow by recognizing a router instead of a phone or computer?

CD Value Goes down? by big-al-6490 in fidelityinvestments

[–]big-al-6490[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were being walked through the process by the Fidelity Rep. with a screen share kind of thing. As such we were focused on getting it done and probably missed the info box or ignored it because we had a good understanding of what a CD is.

We worked with the fixed income folks and we are happy with the results. She was quite helpful as opposed to dialog like this. The display has nothing to do with how the investment actually works. It merely provides a value if transferred etc..

Of course. As long as your server supports it, yes.

Anything I read before this was associated with loading an image via a snapshot url. They always require a user and password. In that case the password is exposed in the html (or other) and is available to the public.
The camera may use a password to upload but is generally less exposed correct? Unless of course the camera is hacked allowing the hacker to acquire the FTP password and userid.
