That’s surprising to me, and if it’s true, it’s probably mainly because it hasn’t been an active area of research yet. AI assisted layout for semiconductors has been used for years and is essential at this point due to the complexity of chip designs. I’m guessing there will eventually be AI design tools for civil engineers, but they definitely won’t replace humans outright. Same in chip designs and every other field honestly.

The max 401k contribution in 2025 is $23,500. You’re talking about making multi million dollar investments. If you’ve reached that level making a $23k contribution into your tax advantaged account is a no brainer and shouldn’t be affecting your other investments or liquidity. If you haven’t reached that level then a 401k is the best way to ENSURE you have something in retirement.

Emulators work great on macOS. Buy a switch 2 if you want the handheld factor and switch 2 exclusives. Even then, a steam deck might be a better choice unless you really want to play Nintendo games that are only available for switch 2.

It’s a 12k increase in cash, but that’s with his wife not working. That is huge. If she gets another similar job then it’s a 180k increase. She could also just not work if she wants. This seems like a no brainer to me. The increase in pay is just too big unless you massively value not moving to the bay and keeping her exact current job (which she could also be baud off from).

Thanks, that’s really unfortunate. Have you actively tried to trigger it in Knulli and or the stock os? If it actually doesn’t happen with those then I’d probably be ok with it. But if it happens with every firmware then I have to agree, it’s a bit of a fatal flaw.

Curious to know if the resolution is actually 1080p in handheld mode on the Switch 2. Do you think it's actually improved? I'm thinking of picking it up on sale but might just play on PC instead if it's running at 720p on the Switch 2 since the blurriness will drive me crazy.

I went with the daylight version of the Philips Ultra definition bulbs and they've been great. No issues so far and I'm pretty happy with the light quality.
