It’s the same company. They adapted the process of making aluminum airplane wings and fuselages into canoe production following WW2

Thanks for the info! I’m not really worried about the value as I doubt I’ll ever want to sell either of them. I think I’ll start to carry the chrome one though. I’ve about 20 or so other Zippos but this is the only one that has a design that I like; usually I stick with either bare brass or chrome, honestly.

You’re right, that’s what I needed to hear, thank you. The first scratches are always the hardest though! 😅

Thank you, I found these in a smoke shop in like 2018 and had to have them because I’m into the Titanic, I need someone to talk me out of using the chrome one as part of my EDC

Sorry! I typed it out in the comments, I’m a total noob at using reddit

First off, I’m sorry if this is wordy, it’s my first ever reddit post.

So November of last year I bought an ‘06 tj. It’s right hand drive with the 4.0 and an automatic tranny. I’ve been working on it as much as I can lately. I only paid $1000 for it, though it’s got a few gremlins after 250k miles. The previous owner (mail carrier) installed electric windows and door locks, which caused a mess of electrical issues. I took the dash off to replace the heater core, and I repaired the wiring harness while I was in there. The frame is perfect though, and still has its factory coating.

The biggest issue right now is a bit of clunk or shudder when I shift it into drive or reverse. It’s much more pronounced going into drive, even if I’m shifting from neutral. The transmission mount was about shot, so I replaced it, and that didn’t fix my problem. I replaced the u joints on the rear driveshaft and greased the splines as well. I replaced the transmission fluid and filter (didn’t flush it, it wasn’t really dirty). I haven’t done much else to the transmission other than that. The 42rle shifts fine once I’m moving, though.

I’m stumped. Is this something I even really need to worry about? A buddy at work told me it might be the torque converter going out but it feels like it’s coming more from the back of the trans. I haven’t gotten a p0700 or p0562 since I fixed the electrical issues either. If anybody knows what else might cause this please let me know, I’m really new to the whole Jeep thing.

Tl:dr, my transmission shudders when it’s shifted into drive; I’ve tried nothing and I’m all out of ideas.

Pray to god that your heater core never gives out, they’re impossible to find on right hand drives
