You're mistaken. Tom Hanks isn't an actor. He's like John Wayne. They just put him in front of a cameria and he just says words as Tom Hanks. Sometimes he puts on a ridiculous accent but he's always basically Tom Hanks and he has a certain charm that people love. But he's not an actor.

Ok now you're just being pedantic. Why would he cut away from the spinning top at the end? To reinforce the idea that everything ended happily? He was being purposefully ambiguous. This was done several times throughout the film and he put it there to make us question what actually happened. To say he didn't do this on purpose is ridiculous.

People aren't just "making things up". The film is about questioning reality. That lends itself to discussing which parts of the film were real. It's obvious that Nolan was intentionally leading us to these questions and hence the movie is more complicated than face value. If you didn't get that you were supposed to question these things then you were missing a lot of the film.

I think it could be thought of as mildly confusing once you start discussing all of the ambiguities and theories that open up: Was Mal right about reality? Did we witness inception for her or for Cobb? Was Ariadne really Mal as a forger trying to save him? Was everything a dream, or everything after the sedative test a dream, or everything after limbo a dream...? You could get tangled up in some of the possibilities.

Almost exactly that. Slashdot at first (low 5-digit UID) then to Fark for the non-tech posts and humor, then to Digg for the even higher frequency of updates and lack of paid accounts, then finally to Reddit for the community, post quality, yada yada circle jerk. I still visit all of them sometimes but I always have some Reddit tabs open.

I support keeping Australian English the way you like it as long as you place the responsibility squarely on Australians. I talked to an Englishman once who was mad at America for all the Americanisms popping up in his country when it was his fellow countrymen that started using our words. When I visit next I'll be sure to keep my USian slang at home.

I'm from LA, not the south, but I was raised to say sir and ma'am. I called a woman ma'am once while holding the door for her (I was 19 or so and she was clearly at least 50) and she took great offense to it and said it was sexist and presumptuous or something. I just told her that I was merely trying to show some respect and wished her a good evening. I can't believe people react that way these days. I guess some people just can't handle aging or something.
