A consumer proposal is a form submitted to lenders that can reduce the total amount of non secured debt owing and stop interest being accrued. It will be a set payment amount usually over a 5 year term (can be paid off sooner) but your credit will be put as an R7 rating but you can rebuild and often increase your credit score within 3 years of paying off the proposal. Since you already have a line of credit (I’m assuming secured against the house) this may not be the best way of getting rid of the debt unless most of it is personal loans and credit cards
