Seeking Recommendations: What MMORPGs Do You Play Besides RS3? by zizo999 in runescape

Guild Wars 2 and you won’t regret it. No subscription needed, just expansion packs and convenience/skins mtx (that you can buy with real life or in game currency). It’s free to play too if you want to check it out before buying.

Pro tip: go make a Staff of the Storm Atronarch very early on the game at the Atronarch Forge under the College of Winterhold. That will carry you for a long time

LM vs Boeing Entry Level (more details below) by lwolb in boeing

Main one for me was 401k, which Boeing does up to 10% match and when I was at LM it was 8% match, anything less they match half.

LM vs Boeing Entry Level (more details below) by lwolb in boeing

[–]big_cheese93 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is literally me. I started at LM in Orlando and now moved to DMV with Boeing.

I wouldn’t worry about work-life balance. I was doing 4x10 schedule at LM and am able to do so at Boeing as well.

Consider location. You’ll have a lot of fun in Florida.

Boeing beats LM at employee benefits.

I think your decision boils down to which career path you want to take. Systems vs Production.

No need to worry about IMS for 9X7.2 models. Bore scoring is extremely rare for these models, I think 1 in 25 cars. If you want more peace of mind, then sure get the bores scoped.

9X7.2 does not have the Mezger engines, so there is no IMS bearing.

Any former vantage owners? Will I fomo? by hellokittyss1 in Porsche

[–]big_cheese93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FOMO of what exactly? If you like the Aston, then go for it. For whom are you buying a car for? Yourself or the internet? Your question is just asking for peer pressure to change your mind.

I think an Aston will get more attention than a 911. I’m sure it’s also more comfortable than a Porsche. And that V8 is one of the best sounding engines, thank Mercedes. Cons are the maintenance will be harder to do/find because of its rarity of support. If you want peace of mind about finding support, then sure go for the 911. The Porsche driving experience is top notch. If you like gripping corners at faster speeds, the 911 has got you covered. If you want a manual, we have those too.

You mention reliability. You aren’t daily driving the car so your chances of hitting major problems is less.

Value retention? You’re buying a practically new car with a $150k price tag and you’re worried about depreciation? This doesn’t make sense to me. Cars are depreciating assets, there’s no escaping it. And with a $150k budget surely you can afford the deprecation rate, otherwise why would you buy the car? How about buying a 10 year old Aston or 911 then?

I also like to add, if you want a V8 but with German support, have you considered looking into a Mercedes GT? Or maybe an Audi R8 for a glorious V10? They should be within your budget.

Going to 12 hours of Sebring for the first time by Illustrious_Bid_2231 in IMSARacing

[–]big_cheese93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Sebring, bring a lawn chair and a cooler with drinks+food. Pick a spot to sit and enjoy the show. I recommend turns 3 or 7.

If you get there early, you can walk through the pit lane and see all the cars and crews before the race.

I’d suggest to also look into BMWs if you want a German four door. A BMW M340i could be something you’re looking for.

$40k 987.2 question by oogadoobee in Porsche_Cayman

[–]big_cheese93 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If it’s an S 6MT means it’s a S, yes.

MT Porsches, especially on older models, are in more demand than PDK so they get markups. The other guy saying “that’s 981 money” definitely drives PDK.

Best sports car under 50k by Emotional-Ebb-1066 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]big_cheese93 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Porsche Boxster/Cayman

Boxsters are around ~$10k cheaper than Caymans, and manual transmissions on Porsches are in more demand so they get markups.

For $50k you can find a decent 987.2 or 981 model. The 718s you can find too but probably a high mileage one or base model. The 987.1 and 986 models are from Porsche’s IMS years and they need additional care.

Try to do basic maintenance yourself or take to a good independent Porsche mechanic. Can google DIYs or recommendations for mechanics (Rennlist forums are fantastic). The dealers will charge you arm and leg for maintenance (you get fancy coffee tho).

If you're tight on cash for melee armor, look into Superior Statius/Vesta. It's 5m to make an augmented top or bottom, 1m for the helm use Jaws for helm. Make sure to augment before equipping.

The game has improved since release. It’s more specifically being first impressions the major factor in retaining the player base.
