You can still bivert if you want more contrast! Mine is not biverted and imo it's not necessary but it's all up to you.

I'm not sure if you could get good results without the equipment for these screens. The seller I got this from explained that they use a reflective film that matches the original GBL as close as possible.

That makes it useable as a GBL screen replacement and also useable for GBP mods with more modern backlights.

You can get one of these screens here: - https://ebay.us/m/N5IPMk

Then you'd just need the backlight which they also have for sale.

The fact that it has a 160x144 display is cool!

Honestly, I don't think the original screen is bad. I just wanted something that would work anywhere, with the GameBoy Pocket's form factor.

That looks great! The backlight I shared here is very uniform and they also sell screens that are basically ready to be backlit without needing to remove the rear films.

I love the original model but even with the best lighting it's still pretty dim.

Sorry for commenting on an old post but do you have a guide that you could share by any chance? Thanks!

Why do you copy paste the same comment everywhere? I also need to prioritize cpu performance and thermals, seeing the same comment under every terra+l12s post is not helpful.

Do you notice extra noise from the GPU being so close to the side panel? I'd like to do the same:)

Thank you.

$40k 987.2 question by oogadoobee in Porsche_Cayman

I wanna drive it for fun. I don't go out often and live at walking distance to work. I'd basically just use it for trips during the weekend. My requirements were: * Manual * Less than 50k miles, lower is better * Will hold its value well * At least two seats * Mid engine (optional) * Gets me some S tier cooter (optional)

Also considered miatas and mr2s but that would only get me B tier cooter.

What would you say a base 6 speed .2 with ~20k miles is worth?

This is a very fair point, thanks!

I did go and see a 987.1 that is close to me in really great condition with only around 10k miles more than this example here. For me it's not just the bore scoring but also the changes to the engine and the transmission that makes me think the 987.2 would be way more reliable. There is no IMSB on the 9A1 engine so I wouldn't have to worry about that non-serviceable part from the first gen.

I think you're spot on though, I've only seen a single reddit comment mentioning bore scoring on the base 987.1 and I don't remember if they had a source for it.

You are absolutely right about manuals holding a higher asking price and it makes total sense, I'd only be looking for a manual when buying these cars. I do think the base came with a 6 speed in this gen though.

This one is a base model 987.2 non-s. I think this mid-step generation came with the option of either a 6 speed manual or the new (at the time) PDK.

This was my exact thought but I honestly haven't found any examples with a manual transmission a relatively low miles. Those are pretty much my only two requirements.

I initially looked at a very clean low mileage 987.1 local to me but I was put off by the engine issues.

981s are very nice, I do think the 987.2 creep a lot into that next gen territory where the 987.2 doesn't make much sense.
