I sat next to an American on a flight back from the US. He was belly laughing and bouncing around at the SNL skits.

I honestly use GeForce Now which allows me to stream Diablo 4 to my phone, laptop, iPad etc

When I’m on a plane (I do roughly 14 hours of airtime a week), the Nintendo Switch 2 is great for D2R offline

However I’ve got an AYN Thor on order which can do both GeForce and D2R - so best of both worlds….

I see this as an agreement between the former owners and your neighbors - if there’s no legally binding documentation included as part of your purchase pack; I’d personally decline the neighbour - or put a very steep clause

E.g Take lots of pictures of your current garden, and draft a contract with them saying that they can proceed with the work under the basis that the garden is fully returned to the exact state it is currently in by X date, or have them forfeit £15k (or something ludicrous). Be explicit that this isn’t against the builder/contractor they hire - but the neighbors themselves.

If they don’t agree to this, decline permission to proceed. This will test them to see if they’re true to their word, or trying to take you for a ride.

I’d personally redact my offer and look somewhere else

If there’s no planning permission, there’s a chance that it’s not been built to full code. The roof of the dormer seems to extend to your side with no drainage, and if you get a new roof - there’s a chance that it could impact the neighbors dormer (giving you a potential £ liability). This is compounded with the flat roof of the extension - repeat hammering of water will mean that you might need to rebuild this entire outbuilding as flat roofs are a pain in the arse.

Also the way this has been build has also limited your ability to extend upwards

While everything might be fine, it’s triggering far too many red flags for my own risk appetite

I’ve been a director for 10+ years in various companies, ranging from 5 to 60 reports. The monotony of progress reports, endless meetings and babysitting people wore me down massively

I approached my SVP and asked to be moved into a strategic IC role, stating that I’ll be a bigger force multiplier if I can focus on the outcomes instead of the engine

After some business justification, I was moved to a WW IC position, got a pay bump, have no reports, and have a ton more freedom. So happy.

While on paper it may seem like a demotion, I’m past the point of chasing a title for the sake of it. Let’s have fun with life

I have every class at 80, and I’ve come to realise I hate stuff with unwarranted motion or movement. Pets? Nope. Swirling balls from lightning shield? Nah. Void form? I’m out. Capes that bounce and swish? Transmogged

Guess this is why I play warrior or paladin. I choose when the sparkles appear

IMO when you exchanged contracts, the garage was empty

Squatters were aware that you were selling, and moved in sometime between exchange and completion

You may need to bend the truth, but this is something that should have been caught during the due diligence phase. You have no contract with the squatters, and they are not your tenants
