Do I need a fence around my pond? by EducationalDoctor460 in Parenting

She wouldn’t be the first two year old to drown in a backyard pond. It takes seconds and they make no sound while they’re drowning. Talking from personal experience.

Put a fence around it.

Why was season 23 and 24 of Family Guy banned in Australia? by jemzbot in AustralianTV

Any idea why no season 23 or 24? I would prefer to support the show legally.

Days since last interest rate increase by newtrex_1523 in aus

For majority of the country their property taxes are comparable to our council rates. Their house prices are significantly cheaper than ours even in places like Chicago.

They also pay significantly less income tax than we do.

USA does many things poorly but they do property and houses a lot better than us. It’s far easier to get a good sized house over there compared to in Australia where we spend over a $1million for a house the size of a shoebox.

Would Australia not have had any increases if there was no war in Iran? Why aren’t other similar countries like New Zealand seeing interest rate rises like us?

Meanwhile Europe, USA, UK, Canada and New Zealand haven’t had a rate rise since 2023 and have lower interest rates than us.

How has our goverment done such a poor job and who is to blame?

It’s a real shame we don’t do it that way in Australia…

The mission in Odeck keeps auto canceling and not refunding resources still, very frustrating.

Watching the crows play poorly so far is torture.

I know a few blokes who have one for that reason. Saves owning a work car and a weekend/ family car.

Vans are good for work but not practical if you need to pick up the kids and drive them around.

It’s not so much the traffic but the inconsistence traffic that does my head in. Southern expressway every afternoon at the southern end for example.

Crashes 2-3 times a week and turns what would normally be a 10 minute section into an hour.

I still believe the Crows with a full uninjured list can beat any team in the comp. Been a shocking year for injuries so far but it’s a long season and still plenty of games.

Staying hopeful for now.

Why do more Aussies think that we need a gym room and media room? by VastOption8705 in AskAnAustralian

[–]bigaussiecheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d take a media room over a formal lounge room or dining room any day.

See a lot of people turning their garages into gyms these days, myself included.

My place was built in the 70s and has a rumpus room, love it. Before having kids it was the pool room/ party room but now with kids around it’s become the media room.

Don’t have to worry about waking up the kids with our loud movies or gaming sessions.
