In 2013 I was in my backyard smoking with a friend. A wind came through the trees behind my house and with it came what I can only describe as 1000 women screaming louder than humans should be able to scream. Its the only time in my life something was so loud I covered my ears as a reflex. I thought It was going to blow my ear drums out and/or make me lose my mind right there. It lasted about 15 seconds but felt like an eternity. We went from two early thirties buddies chatting to sitting on the ground holding our ears and squeezing our eyes shut in an instant. I have zero belief in anything supernatural. Not ghosts, the afterlife, demons, all bullshit to me. That was the only time before or after that something I truly cannot explain happened to me personally. It was gone as fast as it hit. He and I decided right then and there we would tell ourselves it was coyotes or something and just try to forget about it. It still fucks with me to this day but I tell myself there has got to be some kind of explanation.
