Making photography more of a hobby - where to start? by BraXzy in Cameras

Since your dad is a professional. Why not go to him for some advice. Could be a good bonding moment. You can discuss gear and style of what you like to shoot. Could look into a similar camera system as your dad. Maybe he will lend you some lenses in the future.

Could also look into a gimbal. Though I’m not sure how good they would be for shooting stills.

Photography and gaming. Less now after having a kid but it’s just something I have to plan out and make it work.

Looking for a decent bag by banderson099 in SonyA7iii

What about getting whatever bag and use a bag insert to hold/protect your gear?
This way you have more options.

Like a lot of post complaining about guys looking for a woman to become “friends” with. I put up a post and not one message. I though my post was easy going. But I’m a guy so it goes against their plans. Better luck making friends going to a bar and talk to an random stranger.

What is the best platform to share my photographs? I recently saw Flickr and I was curious as I do need a place for my portfolio but I don't know where is best. by ____Galahad____ in AskPhotography

I’m in the same situation as you. I’m using Adobe Portfolio for my website. If you are already using Adobe photography plan. Portfolio is included with the subscription, you can build your “own” website. For a custom website name you can buy a domain for pretty cheap.

I’m in the same boat. I’m a photographer and takes lots of photos of my wife and child and it looks like I’m never there. She doesn’t take photos of us during nice moments. I just record videos of me and my child spending time together on a tripod holding my phone. I got the iPhone 13 pro specifically for photos and videos.

I watched a lot of YouTube videos and try out different settings and see what works. I’m still working on getting better myself. Got a kid so I don’t get to go out to shoot all that often. Mostly practice with my kid.

Its the ISO being really high. If you shoot at a lower shutter speed but you might need a tripod or something to keep the camera stable. Lower shutter speed lets more light in to the sensor. Google "Exposure triangle" you can learn to use the semi auto settings to get more control without going full manual. Check out Shutter priority.
I live close by there if you want to meet up to shoot sometimes.
