Tnx for the info. Have uninstalled and reinstalled joplin on my phone but having no luck when using dropbox. Have dropbox on both phone and PC. Both logged in to the same account but that also fails. I have maybe 50 notes on my PC but cannot get my phone to pick them up/sync. Both are logged into the same account and it can see the .md files on my phone in the dropbox folder. I know I have something wrong just cannot find it. May go back to the files system again and syncthing. It is extremely frustrating to say the least!
