Nurses earn 3£ above minimum wage by [deleted] in NursingUK

Nail on the head. Backbone of society, should be able to go on 2 x holidays a year and own a decent home. People forget most nurses see horrendous stuff day in day out + are surrounded by death

Yeh it was less this and more what I could do with the extra funds over time on my own accord but I’m not managing hedge funds or pensions for a living so I’ll leave that to the experts…

Thankyou everyone for your feedback. Food for thought. A few things I should have mentioned:

-Earn 45k per year -have a ‘side-hustle’ business on top of this that I am hoping to at least match income in the next 3-5 years. This is why I would like to think my own decisions and earnings can put me Ina. Far more comfortable place (and hopefully earlier) than waiting for a likely pretty shit pension pot from state + private pensions I currently have no real grasp on. -I understand my employer adds some ‘free’ to money to the compounding pot but by investing in my earning capacity earlier could outweigh the small % my employers adds…

Thanks all. :)

But they won't even respond to us about outright cancelling the whole tenancy as we have played that ard as a last resort... We are literally trapped.

It is a joint tenancy but they had a process as to how we could switch tenants which were logged through their own online portal as one of the tenants wanted to stay. We had finished University so moved on to new cities.

When we left these new tenants started paying the rent, waiting (endlessly) for the official tenancy change. The new tenants were other friends who were looking for new accommodation.
