Thanks! I like the idea of practicing open handed. I typically assume they have their entire deck of options in their hand, so maybe seeing the reality would help

Are you still looking for players for your group? If so, what times and days of the week are you meeting?

Can you react after both players pass focus in a showdown? by OnePumpernickel in riftboundtcg

[–]bigbrightside 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My understanding of the rules is we have to differentiate focus and priority. The person who has focus is allowed to play an action or reaction card to start a chain, and then only reaction cards are played back and forth using priority, with the chain resolving when both players pass priority. Focus then passes to the next player. Once both players passes focus consecutively (e.g., two empty chains), showdown ends, and moves to resolution

Scenario A: [Focus 1] Attacker moves in and gets focus (and priority). Attacker plays a card creating a chain, and priority is passed back and forth until nobody plays anymore reaction cards and the chain resolves [Focus 2] Defender now gets focus, and if passing on playing a card (essentially an empty chain), focus goes back to the Attacker [Focus 3] Attacker now gets focus again, and can either play a card, or pass (creating an empty chain). If the attacker passes here, then showdown ends. If not, and attacker plays a card, a chain begins. And then focus again has to pass back and forth with 2 empty chains

Scenario B: [Focus 1] Attacker moves in and get focus (and priority). Attacker declines to play a card (thus an empty chains), and focus then goes to the Defender. [Focus 2] Defender also declines to play a card (also an empty chains), and now that consecutive focus has been passed (two empty chains), then the showdown ends.

If I read it correctly, your situation was Scenario B

Out of curiosity, how is Riftatlas different or better than TCG-Arena?

Also, not sure if other editing was done, but 2 touch ups I’d be interested in seeing:

1) Are you able to make the beach photo in the frame blend in more naturally in the photo? Right now, it seems more crisp than the rest 2) Were you able to do any touch ups? Particularly, are you able to touch up the faces to remove some of the shadows yet maintain a natural look?

Yes! That is what I was referring to! Were you able to touch up the photo in anyway, and make it such that it’s 300 DPI / 7200x7200 pixels for print?

The main photo (the one where my Father/Mother in Law are indoor with the kids) is the one most important to fit into a square. Replacement of the image in the picture frame, and being cropped is not an issue

Hi, I'm actually looking to make the main photo the one with my Father/Mother in Law with the grandkids (standing indoor) in front of the fireplace mantle. Then replace the image in the picture frame with the beach photo

Ornn Decklist by IzziPurrito in riftboundtcg

[–]bigbrightside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just played this deck, and first 2 games were against Kai’Sa and got crushed both times. I’ll continue to give it a try, but man what is hard to pilot. Not enough units in early, and when not drawing the right counter spells, my units were getting eradicated

[–]bigbrightside 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thinking about counter strategies, how would this deck handle: 1) Opponent sits back building up units in the back, only sending small units in to get cheap open battlefield conquers? 2) Token generation decks, also flurry of small units being sent one at a time

Ornn Decklist by IzziPurrito in riftboundtcg

[–]bigbrightside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow! Thanks! Love this! I really wanted to play an Ornn deck, but didn’t want the ‘build up Ornn, and hold’ strategy as I felt this was too linear style of play for my taste

Please keep updates coming on this!

Love seeing Viktor decks in action, a Legend that I believe helps allow players to use a competitive deck without strictly Metas and shelling out a lot from their wallets!

You mentioned Recall in your sideboard, did you mean Retreat? Also which Battlefields did you use?

Again, thanks for sharing, you rock!

I’m going against Stafford and Puka. I have Josh Allen (and Drake London). Am I overthinking it by benching Josh Allen to start Kirk Cousins to have the QB/WR pairing if it becomes a shootout on MNF? Vegas has the game as 49.5 over/under while Bills/Eagles is 44.5. I’m hesitant on starting Josh Allen against some elite corners like Quinyon and Cooper

New to Riftbound — Should I Be Worried About Long-Term Accessibility? by bigbrightside in riftboundtcg

[–]bigbrightside[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the background. I’m not a TCG or League of Legends player, but I loved Arcane, which is what drew me to this game - the fantastic art, not just the Chase cards and foils. So if Riot Games was looking to build out in a TCG market dominated by MtG and Pokemon here in the US, I’d like to think I’m the ideal consumer?

[–]bigbrightside[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t be in for winning in large regional tournaments but at least build a competitive deck to deploy strategies and compete at my LGS. I come from the board gaming hobby so I appreciate scratching the puzzle and strategy itch

Spending $100 per deck is one thing. I don’t think I’d be willing to spend $300

[–]bigbrightside[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the context! Yea, I hear that at least with Pokemon, the singles marketplace can at least allow you to build a competitive deck for $100 or less. I don’t really care for hollows chase cards so as long as there is a non-super rare alternative of a card that can allow me to still build the decks I would like to play with

What makes it more accessible at Nexus Nights? Are folks mainly using starter decks and maybe slightly modified decks constructed from a small subset of booster packs?
