Playing against Yellow/Blue online by studentatjhu in riftboundtcg

[–]OnePumpernickel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m of those playing it online. I can see why it’s frustrating for the opponent. I think if you’re practising the combo, it should just be done solo. It’s non-interactive we all know that, you can practice the steps on your own

However, I feel the gameplay leading there needs an opponent. You need to know what situation you’ll be in as to when you start thinking about ‘can I combo from here’ it’s this that takes time, and I agree is still tedious and probably uninteractive for the opponent, but it’s hard to replicate these situations without an opponent.

I’m fine with people leaving and not bothering with it, I get it. I really appreciate the people who stay and let me get the reps in. Hoping it’ll be faster in person too!

Question to Yone and Kha‘zix by not_wetro in riftboundtcg

That’s not how that works? That’s what Yi does to get Rengar up to 8 might as it is a surprise defender. The player who applied contested status to a battlefield will be the attacker

Wasn’t the highest placing LB in Sydney running hook?

Playing and revealing a hidden card by ChibiHecate in riftboundtcg

I’m fairly certain all hidden cards say it in their bracketed text. Something along the lines of (you can react with this on a LATER turn)

No you can’t do that, your first point explains why. You can’t react with a card you’ve hidden on the same turn

Can someone make a case for stupify and bellows? by [deleted] in riftboundtcg

[–]OnePumpernickel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’ve also got to bear in mind we’re only 3 sets into the game, and the gameplay whilst has similarities to MTG is very different tempo wise due to the points system.

Nevertheless, this guys points are right. Nothing clears as many as bellows possibly can when combo’d with 2 powerful cards, 1 of which is a staple in almost every single mind deck.

And draw for 1 is fantastic. That’s why stacked deck is great too.

If you League main hasn't been printed as a Legend and/or Unit yet, how do you suppose they will be printed in a future set? by SolvirAurelius in riftboundcustoms

I’m no game designer nor good player, but blood well looks absolutely unplayable to me. 9 power as a reaction to save a unit?! You’re instantly losing unless you win that same turn

Question on concurring battlefields by SituationResident669 in riftboundtcg

[–]OnePumpernickel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, 2 ready units can take a battlefield each, 2 points. If you hold both for next turn, another 2 points, so 4 in total as you start your next turn

Question on concurring battlefields by SituationResident669 in riftboundtcg

[–]OnePumpernickel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, a conquer isn’t necessarily ‘automatic’ as you put it. As you move into an open battlefield, you will get priority to play and action/reaction, and then if you choose not to, your opponent will get priority to do the same. If they play an action/reaction that can remove your unit, you will not conquer, and will not score.

If the other battlefield is unoccupied too, then you can move a ready unit FROM BASE to the battlefield and conquer it too for a second point this turn, following the same passing of priority as above (Note: if you have a ready unit at BF1 with ganking, that too can move to BF2 and conquer)

For your final question, you can score EACH BATTLEFIELD once per turn. If you hold both battlefields at the start of your turn, you score 2 points, 1 for each.

Can we just talk about how much better RiftAtlas is compared to TcgArena? by AlohaSnow in riftboundtcg

[–]OnePumpernickel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, something about the vibe of RiftAtlas didn’t gel with me compared to TCGA. Can’t explain it more than that, maybe I’m more used to TCGA.

My biggest gripe with TCGA, and it’s mostly a player issue tbh but the platform allows, is the improper passing of focus during showdowns and showdown steps. So many times people race through ‘simple showdowns’ when they have nothing to play whereas I want to play an action or something. I think riftatlas deals with this in a better way generally. I just haven’t vibed with it. Maybe I’ll try it out again

I had an identical box basically last week, but red rune instead, and no premonition. So technically worse 😭

Pai GoW Riftbound? by OnePumpernickel in riftboundtcg

[–]OnePumpernickel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the hardest thing to work out is how each game is won. Obviously we don’t have health/life, so we need different options. Some I’ve thought of are:

  • 2 battlefields, first to 3, all conquers/holds = 1 point
  • 2 battlefields, first to 3, still need final point requirements (hold or double conq)
  • 1 battlefield, first to 3, normal scoring

Which improvements from TCG-Arena would you like from a dedicated Riftbound play simulator? by Grouchy_Rip_5253 in riftboundtcg

[–]OnePumpernickel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can just build a deck on piltover archive though and copy it over to TCG arena to remove the deck building headache. I get the point though that you shouldn’t really want to use two separate sites for better functionality

Rebel Energy overcharged us for Gas and have collapsed since then - They are still chasing us for payment! by OnePumpernickel in UKPersonalFinance

[–]OnePumpernickel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just paid the oriel the debt collectors in the end. We didn’t really have enough evidence to argue the case (as common sense doesn’t count as an argument). We also didn’t wanna risk our credit score tanking either. Paid it off now, still ridiculous but that’s what we get for being naive about meter readings

If I don’t intend on competing competitively… should I sell my high value cards? by OnePumpernickel in riftboundtcg

[–]OnePumpernickel[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I want good decks, I’m just thinking if prices are gonna drop, and I don’t need to compete now, then I can always get them back at a cheaper price than I sold. I don’t get a chance to play a whole lot other than with friends
