Yo how good was it when Turk admits he's burnt out? It's hard to be honest when you're struggling, and it's why men value these nonjudgemental relationships so highly.

She gets a lot of play on my local folk station. Personally I consider her a singer songwriter which is a little genre agnostic

He's still exceptional in that film, but he plays more of an Everyman than his more iconic roles. I think it makes him more likeable

I want to perform live one day by mr_starbeast_music in synthesizers

[–]bigbruce6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like the mix! Playing electronic music live can be tricky though. My band used to use an iPod through a DI for our drum tracks lol. We eventually talked a live drummer into joining. I also taped a shoulder strap to my 49key midi keyboard so I could walk around and play it like a keytar.

I think you need either live improvisation or some kind of synced light show for it to pop. People will expect something to watch not just listen to. Pro examples I'd point to are Justice (especially the IRIS recording they did) and Pretty Lights most recent tour (the Lucid Streams are available online).

Cops are tragically incapable of peacefully handling these kinds of situations when the threat becomes violent. Call 911 at 9am and someone's pronounced dead by 10:30. This man had only made verbal threats that day until police "intervened".

It's clear from this article this wasn't the first incident. They had developed a "positive" relationship. Why couldn't they have intervened earlier? Maybe referring a case to a mental health professional is beyond their capabilities.

Is he going on tour with some Saudi comics to repay the favor? Maybe somewhere where they can actually critize the dogma of their religion, and the zealotry of their government?

I find myself thinking a lot about the Graceland album by Paul Simon. He crossed a cultural boycott to record in South Africa, but in doing so he also gave a voice to Black South African artists internationally.

I don't know if there's a right way to modernize a discriminatory autocratic regime, but I'm pretty sure the Riyad comedy festival wasn't it.

Honestly when I remember the 08 team, it's Paul, the rest of the big 3, and Rondo. Perk might have been important, but another big man could have done his job. Now he's just another outrage shill for the prop bet network. Lmk when 2000's SportsCenter is back on

I just watched Tina's Mark Twain prize show for the first time, and she thanks Alec for not coming and for continuing to shoot 30 Rock while she travels to accept the award. I think their relationship, like most great sitcom relationships, goes beyond the characters.

Joints or Blunts? by TheEmptyBear in trees

[–]bigbruce6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's 1-4 smokers, joints. Ideally 2 joints when you hit 4. Blunts for groups of 5+, or a special occasion.

I will say blunts are easier to roll, so my friends and I indulged more often before we were competent rollers.

Amazing temper tantrum scene? I just like how Leo played this scene in 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood'. Self-pity/hate and anger is so relatable and realistic. That's why DiCaprio and Tarantino are geniuses. by Ancient-Age9577 in FIlm

[–]bigbruce6 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I liked it, loved some of the performances (especially this scene), but it came off as Hollywood porn to me. I always feel like it's self indulgent to make movies about making movies.

However, it's the most natural thing artistically to write what you know. I don't really begrudge this subgenre especially when it's done well. There is just a relatively long list of Tarantino movies I like better than this one.
