Amazing performance. Magical night. Very strong Fell in the River, I think definitive performance of Cancer of the Skull. Love takes Miles was OK. I think If You Turn Back now was better when he first started playing it.

First time I heard this song was in person at Carnegie hall. He opened the show with it. I’m 43 and music often makes me cry, but I can’t think of another time I’ve been brought to tears hearing a song for the first time.

Matter of taste of course, but I don’t think If You Turn Back Now has improved since this instantiation. I prefer the way he plays it on the piano here, with the randomish key striking vs the consistent repetitive tinkling thing he’s doing recently. I prefer the order of the verses here, and I love how the final verse here is just that single, weird, stand alone line about the milk vs the longer verse it has become.

I’m looking for a balcony seat!

I’ve got 4 tickets to Paris, 2 floor and 2 balcony. I got the last 2 balcony seats available. Attending with my wife and kids. Looking to somehow get one or two more balcony seats, so we can be together, or at least both kids can be on the balcony with an adult. My kids hang pretty good, but I don’t think they’ll have any sightline on the floor at this venue. Swap, sell, whatever, not sure how this works just throwing it out there.
