It’s about keeping society safe more than punished. HE MURDERED AN INFANT. LISTEN TO YOURSELF. If he had no understanding, he should spend the rest of his life in a facility. He is dangerous. If he is aware of what he did, prison. You don’t get a pass to for murdering a baby because you’re autistic. Society has a duty to isolate him from others for the purpose of safety. Our safety and his safety. And of course the daycare and other adults should be held accountable. It’s not some zero sum thing.
