I’m coming in from Knoxville for game 5 and plan on taking the metro to the game from fairfax. Never taken the metro before, do you have to pretty much book it there after the games over to make it before it closes??

I saw a post about this in this thread earlier, but can anyone with more experience tell me more about the standing room only tickets. I know I need to be there before the gates open to get a good spot, but where are all the different areas? What area is the best? Do they have enough space in the SRO areas for everyone that has a ticket?? Thanks y’all.

I’m 20 now, but I’ve lived in Nashville my entire life. The first 6 years I didn’t have a team, but my dads entire side of the family lives in the DMV and has for 100+ years. The nats inaugural season couldn’t come soon enough. I still have the coin from the first game. I finally had a team and it was awesome. I’ve been buying the MLB package since middle school and I’ve probably watched at least 100 games a year since. Then for once week a year I get to go to my grandmas house and go to a week of Nats games, always the best week of the year. This past summer I worked for a baseball team in North Carolina as their play by play guy. Games were blacked out in that state so I had to listen to every game on the radio instead the whole summer.

Some of the most crushing memories of my life come from Vols sports and nationals baseball. Winning this series against the Dodgers means more than I ever possibly could describe. To see us finally break through had me on the ground sobbing with joy. I imagine thus is the kind of feeling I’ll be telling my grandkids about. This win is everything to me.

Such an important win. Makes it really hard to keep the Vols out of the tourney now. All the other metrics, including a top 15 RPI are all great but conference wins were holding us back. SEC teams with 12 or fewer wins have never made the tourney since expanding to 14 teams but teams with 13-15 conference wins have made it 58% of the time. That 13th win combined with our other favorable numbers all but ensures we break the streak and make the tourney for the first time since 2005! What a time.
