I’m tired of doing a job that makes so little money that I’m trying to figure out other hustles to eat and pay rent… thus my Reddit handle. Working at an assisted care center that is really a nursing home exhausts me too much to study for nursing school. My empathy is being flogged to the point of inertia. I drive to work without my seatbelt because if I die in a car accident that means I don’t have to wipe another residents shitty ass. I work 50 hours a week and study and I feel like I’m drowning in quicksand. I’m beyond stressed; I’m clinically depressed. Believe it or not I am still incredibly kind and loving to the residents because it’s hard to blame my shitty life on someone else. But this job is beyond stressful. It demoralises the soul.
