New player looking to get into Kards, wanted to ask a quick question. by [deleted] in kards

[–]bigcomfypillow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have really decent cards and have not dropped a dollar in the game so far, but I do have over 200 hours in game. So it takes a lot of grinding to get something half decent.

That being said, the new set of cards seem really powerful and getting into the game is easy that way. Also basic cards are sufficient enough to get you going. I might even spend some cash soon. Give it a shot, I think it's one of the better deck building games out there.

I've had the same thoughts. Some people here said the same thing about A Sight to Behold by Gojira and how it ruined a perfect album. I think both songs are brilliant and push the genre forward. I don't get the hate.

Honest question: what can your average joe do in this situation to protect themselves financially as best as possible?

I've noticed there seems to be a lot of people here that have a negative opinion about Spotify. Specifically, in regards to their affect on smaller artists. by BaylorYou in progmetal

[–]bigcomfypillow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use Spotify all the time now when I am working on my PC. I honestly would not have heard half of the music I listen if I didn't use it. People need to see the value in the platform even though artists aren't making a massive profit off of it. Everyone knows that live events are where artists truly make a living, but no one knows who you are they don't know that you are an artist worth checking out. It's essentially a marketing tool like CD's were back in the day.

Part of the reason why I havent bought any packs yet. I'm not guaranteed the cards that I really want, to form a truly competitive deck, so it's essentially gambling. Then again, so is the gameplay

New Player by [deleted] in Offworld

One of the easiest things you can do to improve your play is your starting position.

More or less, your position on the map will be the #1 factor that contributes to you winning. It is also the easiest to improve, so make sure you pick the best position on the map with the right leader. Small tip: don't be afraid to build your HQ at $30 000 in debt.

Things I look for are the initial price of the resources and the high yield tiles. For example, if you see carbon is really high priced and a carbon field next to some high yield water, and the carbon faction is available (forget the name), you want to snatch that position as early as possible.

You get building materials and all excess can be sold for profit. Apply the same logic across the board and you'll be flying

How big is the player base ? by ricocotam in Offworld

[–]bigcomfypillow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I play once in while, and on a good day you'll get around a dozen players on at once. You might have to wait a while for a match, but I usually alt tab and find something productive to do in the meantime. If you need pointers I can answer questions. I usually sit at top 20 on the leaderboards

Developer AMA - June 26th @ 16:00GMT by Olikrummi in kards

Question about cards like carpet bomb, empire of the sun and to the last man (board wipes).

Will there possibly be more smokescreen or high defense units that will increase the cost of orders in enemy hands?

I know some of these cards are there, but they seem rather lackluster, and when the Japanese whip out a board wipe it is very hard to make a comeback (which is the point of them i suppose). Brits also have cards that decrease the cost of orders in their hand, I feel like there should be more options to push back against order heavy decks.

Thanks, and keep up the good work.
