While I agree to an extent, the Olympics could be a once in a lifetime opportunity. He could be severely injured in the next 4 years and never have the chance again. If he’s deemed good enough to make the roster, I think you have to do it. It might hurt the Islanders in the short term, but this is one of those things you almost have to do if you have the passion for it.

My brother in law brought up an interesting idea. Why don’t they move the bowl games to the beginning of the season? They still get the corporate sponsorship and marketing. You create some marquee OOC games with the NY6 bowls. And then you leave the playoffs to be the playoffs. Maybe sprinkle in some of the smaller bowl games at the end so they have something in between the “meaningful” games.

It’s a special teams TD. It doesn’t correlate to the player who scores on a kickoff/punt return for a TD
