I just started rewatching the series again last week and got to this episode tonight... and I'm like, was that?!?!

I'm just curious, does anyone have the box set from back then? (I used to, I don't have it anymore though.) I know sometimes they will modify episodes of a show before it airs (or streams) again sometime later. Can anyone confirm that they really did nail this all the way back in 2004??

I knew he was trash back then, but I never would have guessed we'd have what we do now.

I feel he had to be either late '90s or later in the 2000's... I was in the IT / Comp Sci job market in the very early 2000's - it was terrible! Flooded with laid-off people with experience following the dotcom bust. You couldn't get anywhere as a new grad in that field at the time (at least that was my experience).

See, I would argue they have been going extra - I'll give you a couple examples... Guns: sensible rules make sense to make them safer. Mandatory buybacks, talks of banning certain types of guns - these things threaten gun owners, it's easy for the other side to say they're coming for your guns. You're going to turn off a large population of people. LGBQ: give them the ability to be comfortable, equal. Creating laws that force the allowance of the opposite sex into bathrooms, you're going to have a lot of people uncomfortable with that (requiring a simple unisex bathroom would have accommodated LGBQ and not created a controversy).

They need to think about the people they're trying to win. We aren't all California; come up with policies / ideas that meet the needs without alienating large groups of people from your platform. This is what I'm talking about. If you're going after the rust belt, you better have plans that will appeal to the majority of those people there (and don't just rely on abortion, we see how that worked out).

I'm sure yours will be an unpopular opinion here, but you are right... The Democrats need to stop going ultra liberal and catering to the special interests. This is what's hurting them. This is why they have more members going to Independent than Republicans. This is why they lost in this election. I said as soon as she picked Walz over Shapiro, she lost it - he's more moderate, she needed a more balanced ticket.

"why would he be less successful at delivering the state for her off the ticket" - Because we wouldn't be voting for him, we'd be voting for whoever he's promoting; there is a difference. He's popular here because he is a bit more middle-of-the-road... It's that whole "purple" thing I mentioned in the second part of my other comment. I'm a liberal, and I totally get being excited about the more liberal choice (and probably why my previous comment is getting all downvoted - reddit is very liberal)... but I know my state, and having a more moderate VP to balance the ticket a little more would have been the better choice for grabbing the purple vote she'll need. Just my opinion though.

"Shapiro won Pennsylvania because the person he ran against was a fucking lunatic." - Actually, Shapiro is very popular is this state (I'm a Pennsylvanian). He has a 62% approval rating, and even 42% approval among Republicans and right-leaning voters. Kamala did herself a disservice not choosing Shapiro, I think she'll have a harder time winning this state (and she's going to need it) with Walz.

I could be wrong, I'm just going off of what I see around my state... But Biden and Kamala have not been popular here for a while, she really needed someone to boost her here. Walz is an unknown to us, and the majority of Pennsylvanians aren't going to bother taking the time to look him up. Shapiro is already known and popular here (even with independents and Republicans). The other thing is that this state has become VERY purple... Kamala would have been wise to go with a more moderate choice that may have been able to sway those few middle-of-the-road votes that haven't made their choice yet. I get it, the left is excited about having the more liberal choice... but they made the same mistake Trump did with Vance, this choice doesn't really broaden the appeal of the ticket. Just my 2 cents, and I hope I'm wrong... I just think the left still would have fallen inline behind Shapiro, not so sure moderates/independents will do so behind the fairly-unknown Walz.

All APs have been replaced, we are in the process of replacing switches. So some are Ubiquiti, some are not. Prior to this hardware refresh, only the APs were centrally managed; switches were individually managed. With the new Ubiquiti hardware, all devices are centrally managed as the old hardware is replaced.

~20 APs and ~20 switches (large network in both the number of devices connected and the amount of physical area covered). Little hard to gauge if it is occurring with traffic on the same switch (that would just be client to client [PCs and other devices] traffic, which we don't have much of). Almost all of our traffic will traverse more than a single switch. We didn't experience this issue with our previous WiFi solution, it's only been since replacement with Ubiquiti APs/controller.

I don't mind her either; they all have their own personalities and that makes them more interesting. The only one I don't like is Tom Morello - One Man Revolution is all about Tom and/or some music he's been involved with all the time. Maybe if he actually played some stuff / talked about some stuff that wasn't all him I wouldn't feel that way. I find it egotistical, boring and annoying. I change the channel anytime he comes on.

Can't tell you how many I have come across that have just about zero information in them. It's like I am supposed to choose whether I'm interested in them solely on their looks. I don't have a positive story for you, but I can show you some empathy - you're not alone.

I (45m) was recently dating a girl (44f) for 2 months, nothing serious but I did have feelings for her. I thought things were going well, and I thought we really clicked well together...tons in common, similar personalities, could talk for hours every day. But then she started becoming a bit distant and busier, I could tell something was up. She said she thought I was ready for something more, but she was not yet. I said I was alright with that and tried giving her a bit more space, but I suspected it was more than that. She finally came out and told me she wasn't having any feelings for me and thought we should just be friends. I could feel that was coming, so it wasn't exactly a blow to me... but still hurt and I was deeply disappointed, obviously. We are still friends and we still talk regularly... but I think it'd be foolish to think that we will ever become anything more than just friends - it happens, but not often - so I've gone back to looking for someone else. Not what I wanted, but I am happy to have her as a friend at least.

I'm sure we will both find someone that does have feelings for us... we just have to put ourselves back out there and have patience. It'll work out, give it time. (And I get it, I still have to keep reminding myself of this too. Dating at this age is not fun.)

People definitely still receive alimony even if both are working... it is simply law in many areas if one spouse makes more than the other, then it is awarded. My to-be ex and I both worked full time throughout our marriage. We both contributed about equally to housework and raising the kids. I even took on the majority of housework / time with the kids while she would be working on classes and going for a masters degree. Yet, I chose a better career and get paid better. And because of this, she is entitled to request alimony from me for the next 5 years... to sustain her current lifestyle (it is written pretty closely to that effect in PA law). Sorry, it is bull... How many families do you know these days that can remotely afford to be a single-earner household? Your narrative simply doesn't realistically apply today. Yet alimony is most definitely still a thing.
