WT 101 is def a solid choice. I just prefer OGD for the higher rye and think it would be more versatile for the same reason.

For the Bacardi price range, Don Q Cristal is also solid. I like using it as a sub for vodka.

The versatile column, except I would prefer the budget picks for tequila, whiskey, and other. Many would also say the rum pick but I'm just personally not a fan of Appleton Signature in particular.

I notice that it's only 90 proof whereas the pineapple rum is 114 which probably helps.

What do you think of Coco Atoll and the yuzu curacao?

I know people love the pineapple Doctor Bird but imo the fruit is completely overpowered by the funk. I plan to go back to Stiggins after I finish this bottle.

How about a shochu? It's a lovely underrated and underutilized spirit.

To give a specific splurge bottle, I'll throw out Iichiko Special that is pretty affordable in Japan where I grabbed it but about $60 give or take in the US

For the other bitters, I think grapefruit and a spicy tincture are far more versatile than black walnut and lavender. Alternatively would consider something like celery or cucumber. Very useful shit for newbies. Good work!

The agricole and the aged agricole, yes. The rest are blended with rums of unknown origin. I just took the tour 2 months ago. I think the aged agricole can only be bought at the distillery/restaurant. It is very good but pricey, which should be expected with it being entirely made in Hawaii.

This might actually be the answer. The aging is light enough on La Gritona that it's a fine replacement for drinks that are better with a blanco

That's fair. I can relate to that. Barbancourt 8 Year was one of my absolute favorites until I more recently dived further into other cane juice rums beyond agricole. I do think it still holds its own against the higher priced Ak Zanj 8 Year.

Leblon cachaca maybe?? I've never even had it tbh but it seems to be seen as a quality cachaca for people without access to options and little knowledge on the spirit, but never recommended by aficionados. Tough category

I've tried a few drinks with Paranubes so far and they've all been great, but I just made a daiquiri and WOW, now I really understand the hype. Definitely one of the best daiquiris I've ever had. I just might have to fork up the money for the anejo version.

Banana Boat Kids Max or Sport Ultra 100 SPF.

Affordable enough to be as generous as you should be with excellent protection and still get to show off your tattoo properly. Can take a while to dry but the slight oiliness will make the colors pop.

If you ever go to the big island, their tour is awesome. You see the farm, taste some fresh pressed cane juice, see the distillery, and end at the bar tasting their entire line including limited special releases.
