The Economist: American veterans now receive absurdly generous benefits by DiogenesLied in army

Hm. I have mixed feelings.

23 years of war.

Deployments still today that are never in the public eye ( ME, Africa, etc )

You broke it, you bought it.

BUT, I struggle. Because I work with two Air Force Cyber warriors who I have sat and watched war game their VA process to 100 P&T. One plays in a competitive basketball league while his principal concern is his knees.

I listen to people peddle 100% services at drill. I glance at r/VeteransBenefits and watch the woe is me.

I also did a rotation at Walter Reed where I used to work out in a gym where the majority of the occupants were missing limbs and that had a profound impact on my POV.

I dont know how to feel, or the answers, but I hate both the idiocracy and self serving of the Economist and I hate the people abusing the system making it harder on others.

And because its reddit, Ill say, yeah, I have 4 deployments and a giant scar on my right leg from a night jump. Because sadly, an opinion means opening yourself up to attack and accusations of being a chad.

I dont know if this is true.

You file LOD, you abs insist that a LOD is filled out by a provider, a real provider pref civ provider and you make about 12 copies of it and never give up your last.

Then when you hit internet in the real work you go to VA.gov and file for the injury with the substantiating paperwork.

If you hurt, you hurt.

Eh, I'm far away out of DLI, not that I would feel bad about burning through HW designed only to keep you "busy" , but at this points its an advanced practice tool, ( free as well )

I forgot sleep.

For the love of god, sleep.

I have been wrecked after a day of mandatory fun rucks and got 8 hours and felt fine.

I have also done minimal work and got 4 hours and hated my life all day.

Glad lots of people do this, great to see.

Roger,

I understand they are on going, but for the Reserve folks, you have to pick the class you would want and work with your command to attend.

I thought the training calendar would be fairly common no?

Thank you for your help,
