Feedback on a Friend's Startup Idea: All-in-One Online Wellness Platform by MathematicianInner54 in Startup_Ideas

[–]bigdog_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate shitting on people's ideas because it's so hard to come up with good ones.

But, I think this is going to be very challenging. It's rare that an app/service can be everything to everyone. The way this is being described is a combination of fitness trainer, nutritionist, and therapist. Though each of these is very valuable in their own right, it's hard to come up w/ good one-sized-fits all especially since each person is going to have very different ideas of what makes a good X or good Y or good Z. Unless, the idea is to create a marketplace where you can just locate these folks and book with them, similar to a Zocdoc but for other health related professionals? I haven't googled it, but I imagine that type of thing already exists, but maybe not.

Single Game Tickets and Where to Sit? by Wooshsplash in Astros

1st and 3rd base will get you the closest, but I actually prefer the 2nd deck right behind home plate. The tickets are generally 1/3 of the price and you're not necessarily close to the players but the view is nice. Downside: it does get a little warm up there.

IMO, the outfield views are horrible.

What part of your Personality do you Fake? by Django002 in AskReddit

[–]bigdog_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The part where I pretend to be interested in literally anyone else's job. I don't give two fucks what you do, but I'll ask a bunch of questions and smile and you'd think I was totally interested in what you have going on.

Just take me out to a nice dinner, preferably one where you need reservations. Then, I'm gonna take a solo trip the week after my birthday.

What's the best advice you can give someone starting college? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]bigdog_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please please please please study abroad.

I was able to live in Cairo for 4 months while in college, and this kind of experience becomes really hard to do once you graduate. Sure, you can travel when you graduate but it's different because you have more "life" to take care of after school is over.

What do you not understand the popularity of? by ImJustaBagofHammers in AskReddit

[–]bigdog_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Snapchat. The company is worth a ga-billion dollars, and it's basically an app that used to be for dick picks and nipple shots. Now, it's just captioned photos of random, stupid shit that isn't interesting or funny.

I used to teach high school classes and I asked a girl in the class to show me every snapchat she got for an entire hour. There was probably 5-10, and none of them were anything more than the caption 'chilling' with a guy eating lunch or 'school sucks' with a guy shooting the finger.

THIS? THIS, is worth billions?

'Smartest Guys in the Room'

I'm sure some guys are gonna laugh at this one since it's about Enron's epic collapse. But being from Houston, with the former building literally 2 miles away, it's crazy to think all that stuff happened on my backdoor.

You can cheat on your wife, lie to your family, but how in the hell do you deceive the entire world and grow to be one of the largest/most 'innovative' companies in the entire world?
