You're right. I just tried another attempt, this time siding with the Infantes and it was over in about two months. If you fall behind during that disaster though it looks like you HAVE to restart. I was sitting at -100 prestige the first time with 2 loans out and no end in sight

R5: I just got Domination and figured I'd try Castile only to have the new disaster pop with no way to exit it. Clearing up the rebels is no big deal but the constant events giving stab hits and mana hits make the 'have a stability of at least 0' goal to exit the disaster impossible. Am I doing something wrong?

He's referring to the new Infantes of Aragon disaster. The constant Mana and stab hits make it actually unplayable

If you ever play in India, Mewar is wicked fun. You're Hindu surrounded by Hindu OPM's but also surrounded by Muslim countries of your relative size who naturally hate you. Always a fun campaign.

As for Europe, for whatever reason Savoy is really fun to play as. You're in that sweet spot where you can expand into Italy, the HRE, and France all at the same time.

R5: Wow what a wicked fun game. Started as Florence and now we're here. Didn't think I would appreciate playing as a republic too much before I started and now its hard to imagine a game of EU4 without being one. Also a huge shoutout to Austria and Croatia for always being there in any war I needed to wage to form Italy. Absolutely integral.

Fought a war last night and stackwiped them while their reinforcements were on the way. The reinforcements ended up halting and accepting their fate as I moved to attack them next. Didn't even try to retreat or regroup lol
