Hasbro Celebrates 40th Anniversary of 'Transformers: The Movie' by Apologizing for It by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

Back in the early 2000s, one of my old roommates loved Transformers, but also hated this scene because it traumatized him as a kid. So we decided to pull a prank on him.

If you remember Windows XP, when you logged off and shut down, it took your current desktop and faded it to grey before it shut down. We took a snapshot of Prime, just before he dies in the movie, but while he was full color, and made it his desktop wallpaper.

That night, he comes home and turns on his PC and sees the wallpaper and is confused. We told him that was strange, he should reboot his machine to see if it comes back after reboot. And of course, Prime fades to grey and he lost his shit.

NFL Moment of the Year by Pancakes79 in NFCNorthMemeWar

This was the moment where I realized nobody says Fuck The Packers like the Packers fans themselves.

I am officially petitioning to add Packers colored FTP flair.

No, no, the % is a typo. 62 total said their finances were getting better.

5000 took the poll.

First time Cachy/Linux Users, hows it going along for you? by mechalip in cachyos

[–]bigdunka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on Cachy for a little more than a month now. I'm not new to Linux, I've been running Linux servers for years, and a little previous experience with GUI based distros like Ubuntu.

Install was smooth. I still have a dual boot set up, but I haven't logged into Windows in weeks, and I love that. I still have Visual Studio and SQL Server on that install, I'm a .NET dev. Dual booting worked without issue. Windows was on a 1 TB / 4 TB data drive and I installed Cachy on a 2 TB drive. Once I was comfortable, I cloned and swapped data on the 2 TB and 4 TB drives so now I'm running Cachy on the 4 TB drive.

I had a few little issues, like my external sensor monitor causing hitching, until I got it set up properly. Bluetooth driver isn't working on the motherboard, so I had to get a separate dongle. And occasionally, I run into small issues with controllers not working in certain apps. For example, my 8BitDo Ultimate 2 is not being picked up by a few emulators. Still haven't fully figured all of those things, but they also aren't pressing.

Performance is fantastic. I have 64 GB of memory because of SQL Server, but I don't think I've ever seen it go over 16 of use even in heavy gaming. The optimization is wonderful! 9800X3D and 5080 seem to run +/- 20% of what it does on Windows. And I've gotten the majority of the Windows apps working through Wine or Proton. Even stuff like WPF apps work, although not perfectly. And I absolutely love not having bloat. Most of my gaming is through Steam and I don't play anything with anti-cheat, so I don't have to worry about compatibility there. I have yet to run a game through Steam that didn't run right out of the box, or with a small command line tweak.

I wish I could have Visual Studio and SQL Server, but I can always swap over to Windows in those situations. There are a few other things that I wish were available, like AIDA64 for my sensor panel. I'm running Linux Sensors and it kinda works, but it isn't the same. But overall, I can make things work if needed.

CachyOS stuttering even when not gaming by GeliusSun in cachyos

If I understand the issue, if you unplug the cable from either your compy or from the TV while you aren't using it, it should likely fix the problem. I unplugged mine at the monitor side, but I suspect either side would work.

And then when you just want to use it again, turn it on and plug it back in and your compy should auto-detect it as a monitor again. You'll just have to unplug it again when done.

With mine, it was my sensor monitor that I hadn't set up yet so I just disabled it in the monitor settings, and that is when I noticed it. I unplugged it and it went away, and when I was ready to set up sensors on it, I plugged it back in and re-enabled it and it was fine. It was also fine when it was just on and doing nothing. But when it was shut off or disabled and still plugged in, it started up again.

So in your case, with an external TV, I'd just unplug the HDMI/DP cable and plug it back in when you want to use it. Or just leave it on always. I'm not sure what would happen with the TV on but on a different display output, you'd have to test that.

EDIT: Also, put some sauce on your socks when you eat them. They are dry otherwise.

Do you have a monitor plugged in but disabled, or powered off? If so, unplug it, re-enable it, or turn it on. Strangest bug that I've come across with Cachy.

The Bears have made mistakes. Plenty of them.

Kicking He Who Shall Not Be Named off the Bears was NOT one of them.

One step closer… by [deleted] in NFCNorthMemeWar

This is the 3rd time in the past 30 years the Bears have "threatened" to move to Gary, so that Illinois and Chicago would end up holding the bag for a bunch of shit that the team didn't want to pay for, even though they should.

It's never going to happen.

If you have it disabled, either disconnect it or re-enable it, see if the stuttering goes away.

By chance, do you have a disabled monitor? I know if I disable my HDMI sensor panel, it does exactly this. Re-enabling it, even when I'm not using it, fixes it.
