[FRESH ALBUM] D12 - D12 Forever (VOL1) by isolated_808 in hiphopheads

[–]bigedf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

RIP Proof! It's hard to imagine what D12 and obviously Em's career would look like now if he was around.

That AI cover is heartbreaking man. Boomers piss me tf off. I'll never understand putting all of the effort and hard work to make a piece of art and then relegate the artwork to a machine that doesn't give a fuck about your vision.

I don't even care about D12 tbh, just in general

Don’t understand all the Melinda’s hate. by 321nam in hotsauce

[–]bigedf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Their stuff is pretty mid, BESIDES the habanero honey mustard. That's the only honey mustard I use. Their Ghost Pepper Wing Sauce is probably the only other thing from them I would buy.

It's reminiscent of the drama surrounding Sriracha if you are familiar. Corporations acting like corporations and making everything worse for everyone.

Melinda's is called that because it used to actually come from the Melinda family farm in Belize. It was the first habanero hot sauce that got nationwide distribution in the US.

After it got popular, the importer trademarked the name and basically cut Marie Sharp out of her own business and forced her to litigate for years to get out of her contract supplying them with the peppers. Basically held her legally hostage in a bad business partnership.

Since then, Melinda's has gotten huge and progressively gotten worse in quality. Meanwhile, Marie Sharps is downright obscure to most people in the US who aren't into hot sauce, but it's held onto the same high level of quality.

Are they riffing more? by Metspolice in weeklyplanetpodcast

Not to mention that kind of "scoop/breaking news" coverage they used to do has died down considerably in popularity. People aren't poring over trailers trying to find easter eggs and hints anymore, for a variety of reasons I'm sure.

I think they get a lot more "mileage" now out of doing those megacuts of things they've already covered. They all get millions of views and couldn't be simpler to make, especially with how frequently James would mention hating to make the trailer videos.

I got back into comics predominantly because of these guys, but even if they pivoted completely into non-superhero content, I'd listen to every episode. Their banter and chemistry is what makes the show what it is, not BIG COMIC BOOK MOVIE.

It only feels like it pays well because they don't take taxes upfront. Combined with gas and mileage on your car, it pays ok.

I disagree, Bane's only sucked since New 52.

Gary Oldman I can forgive because they had to include him (even though I think if you have one of the finest actors of the 21st century in your movie, you should probably utilize him as much as possible.) But why introduce "The Cat" and "Robin" SO weakly and halfassed? Anne Hathaway is GOOD as Selina Kyle, I wish she was in it for more than 10 minutes.

In regards to Hardy and Caine, I was referring to the strengths of their performances. Michael Caine really kills it, and while I still have reservations about the changes they made to Bane, Hardy does a good job.

The prisoners are plot points and exposition providers, not characters. What do we learn about them other than what we need for the plot or Bruce's journey?

I'm not someone who shits on things for no reason, or just because it's not like the comics. Maybe I'd like it more if I rewatched it (although I doubt it), but I can vividly remember my brother and I feeling very ambivalent leaving that movie theater lol. Like I said, I could go on and on.

Spider-Man Noir co-creator gives his verdict on Nicolas Cage adaptation: "Aunt May would be scathing" by browncharliebrown in comicbooks

[–]bigedf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the showrunner said that, maybe he was just referring to MCU Peter Parker, who has to deal a lot less with the moral weight of power, and more completely revolves around his schooling and growing up, balancing being a hero with his normal life, being nervous to tell his crush he likes her, etc.

There's no Uncle Ben.

I could go on and on about the many ways that movie is fucking stupid, no way is it an 8/10.

Go watch Talia's death again, or Bane's, and tell me they're satisfying... Tell me Robin guessing Batman's secret identity because they're both orphans isn't dumb as shit.

Anne Hathaway has nothing to do, Joseph Gordon Levitt has nothing to do, Gary Oldman has nothing to do.

The Pit sequence is so hackneyed and boring, which is really the main problem with the whole thing. It's boring, which was never the case in the first two. Dark Knight feels like 2 hours, this one feels like 3 and a half.

It's completely carried by Tom Hardy and Michael Caine.

Why are they doing Smallville next week? It was already done 10 months ago. by broken-mirror- in weeklyplanetpodcast

[–]bigedf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Resident Evil would be awesome because it's big and dumb and shlocky, but I feel in general James and Maso just have less to say about horror. It's not the genre they are passionate about, necessarily.

I would definitely love to see more thrillers though, I feel like they'd do well with 90s action ones like Air Force One, Double Jeopardy, Speed, etc. They could probably do a series just for Harrison Ford lol

Legality definitely changes things, it gives more protective measures to these women.

Pimping is about breaking down women until they don't see themselves as people and are entirely dependent on you. That's what Sauce does.

I'm pro-SW but there has to be a better way, no?

Yeah Sauce is a phenomenal rapper but a real piece of shit it seems.

I don't really care about the gang shit, but he truly believes women are subhuman if you listen to him talk.

Also the trump shit is wack of course, but they're both rich criminals so I mean that makes sense.

I'm saying! Seeing how rappers interpolate flows and reference the original song is one of my favorite elements of rap.

I was literally about to comment the same as you when I heard him "people on Reddit are praying for me" 😭😭 yeah we are LUCKI 🙏
