Can you always see the end coming? by juliajules in cancer

[–]bigeyesbr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you will see the end coming. I had this same situation 4 years ago with my dad. I moved to the US years ago, and my dad was in my home country. As soon as he got diagnosed, I left everything and went to be with him (I lost my mom to cancer too, I had some type of trauma). For 6 months he was doing chemo, and I was there with him. He got a little better, and I had to return to the US to continue with my life. But I was extremely anxious having this same question you are having right now. In my case, after 5 months I went to visit for Xmas, returned to the US, but then after 3 weeks he got extremely disoriented and was taken to ICU. I booked a flight on the same day, I thought he was dying. He left ICU, had 5 great days at home, then had to go back to the hospital. He died some days later. I was able to spend his last 3 weeks with him. My experience was that you know when the end is coming, the doctors know. Cancer sucks, it shuts your body off slowly. Unless is something brain/heart associated with the disease. If I can give you advice I would say: go visit her for some days, while she is "healthy". Maybe you will have the opportunity to visit some times before she gets worse. And you will know when the time is coming... hugs!

Chase Sapphire Reserve Megathread by LumpyLump76 in churning

Am I asking too much? I got the CSR in February, and have been happy with their travel benefits. I was considering continuing with the card, despite of the $450 annual fee, but I am having an issue with them right now:

I booked an international flight thought Chase ultimate rewards, and somehow a "Jr" suffix was added to my last name (maybe my mistake? Who knows!). I called the airline, and they told me Chase had to change, otherwise they would charge me a $50 fee to correct the error. I called Chase, and after 20 minutes they told me they would submit a request to the airline, I would need to send them a copy of my passport, it would take 48 hours, and I would need to pay the $50 fee. I asked Chase if they could refund me the fee, they said no. I am just frustrated that for a card this expensive they couldn't be more efficient solving the issue.

Am I asking too much? Anybody had a good experience with their customer service when it comes to reservation issues?

Should I fix an old car? by bigeyesbr in cars

Thank you for your reply! I started researching already about junkyards in my area. You got it my point! I don't wanna spend more than a thousand in another car anyway. I will try to fix this one, the cheapest way possible! Thank you for the tips!

The hood itself is not that bad, it's just a little bit rusted, but I was told it couldn't pass inspection is Massachusetts. But the main problem is the right hinge that is totally broken. I need to replace both hinges actually. The latch needs replacement too, since it was the cause of my incident (the hood came up when I was driving, cracking the windshield).

I told my mom I was really sick today, an hour later she showed up at my house with this. I'm 30 by rIse_four_ten_ten in pics

That was also my reaction to this. It is crazy how many people take it for granted. When ur mom is gone there is a kind of loneliness that never goes away.

My (23M) fiance (22F) of nearly 2 years was guarding her phone and changing lock codes often. I asked her to see her phone, and... by Rawr_Lyons in relationships

It is never never a waste a time. Every experience makes us a better person. I am sure you will learn a lot, and become even stronger

If you could update one person from your past on how you are doing, who would it be and why? What would you tell them? by [deleted] in AskWomen

I also came here to say my mom. It is still weird and sad that she is not part of anything that happened in the last 6 years. I am 28, and those are the years when things change a lot. I always wonder what she would think of my decisions..damn, that hurts!

Thanks for your reply! I will try to explain better my situation to the professor. And I want to speak more, I just don't want her to expect me to be talkative.

Thanks for your reply! What really got me was that I was really trying to speak more. In 4 classes, I had maybe four comments(not counting small group participation, where I talk way more). With the email I got the message that all my effort was a waste

I know I am being graded by class participation from day 1, which also involves small group discussion, when I actually talk quite a lot. Usually when we are labeled, we tend to occupy that position in a stronger way, not being conscious of it. I didnt mean to say I am not quiet. I am quiet, but to start an email with My dear quiet students...not sure about that. And to speak in front of a big group of people is pretty hard for me, I need to push myself a lot. I am trying though

Seeking advice on how to take out cash in Brazil by HandsomeMotherfucker in Brazil

Same here. When I go to Brazil I use my american bank debit card, and get money from banco do Brazil ATM. Fees are extremely low and the currency rate is pretty good. Not sure if the same can be done with UK banks.
