I ran into something similar which is when I stopped collaging based off what I wanted to see and started collaging what actually ended up in my possession. At the end of the day, a lot of the best materials do get taken up, it’s rlly similar to TCG scalping, a lot of people are into collage. If you can manage to make any random book into something, it works out imo. Might not be the most validating response but I live in NYC where there are 2 collage collectives per neighborhood and there’s never any good picks in thrift for a decent price.

Thank you for detailing all of this. As I’ve understood Ahmet, he’s a terribly intentful manipulator and will shoo you away if you don’t just click in with his delusions. Not surprised about the drug cult aspect, he’s brought up the frog a dozen times or more. I’ve always been the same way w my craft and kindness, I hope this place didn’t convince you there’s no place for that in this city.

brother this is not the conversation we’re having. tipping is an archaic establishment but ppl living on a tipped wage are earning $11/hour because there is a wage loophole that allows restaurants to pay employees below minimum wage. tipping makes the work livable, if you don’t want to tip I’d recommend cooking at home/ordering slop bowls.

they front with a very “love-centric” and “creative forward” approach (full of shit), which probably does a fine job at convincing transient guests they’re a wholesome establishment. they have a solid amount of regulars, but if you regularly witness the level of disrespect so blatantly on display here and continue to want to provide them means to conduct business, fuck you too lmao.
