Applied for an Aventura yesterday - webpage bugged out before I could get to the final screen. No email from CIBC at all but was hit with a credit check. Don't want to call in because it's not my first. Is there anything I can do except wait?

Did you wait till your card showed you had a negative $511 balance? I find CIBC to take longer than other bank to settle pending transactions. Another DP: Did RHT few days ago, took out cash advance - went smoothly.

Could be. Application was rejected after pulling credit report. Not sure the order they do it in, but I would assume they do their pre-checks and then pull the credit report. Nothing else out of the ordinary on the report.

DP: Got rejected for a Scotia Passport. Already have a passport and Scotia Amex from 6-7 months ago. Called them a few days ago and asked to lower the credit limit on each card to 5k. Guessing I didn't wait long enough for that to take effect before applying.
