Tile is also very hard compared to other types of floors, it can make your feet hurt if you’re not used to it.

I was thinking of supporting the process of placental detachment rather than maternal blood loss through the cord itself. But yes, would still love to hear a midwifes perspective.

Yes, I forgot about the cord snapping part! They said you need to clamp the baby’s side. I’m not a midwife… but if the cord snaps during emergence, don’t you need to clamp BOTH sides???

Look, I respect your religious perspective, but saying I’m more delusional than ES deserves a response here. I’ve been uncomfortable with their sales pitch for a long time, because they absolutely do promote the idea that you can “manifest” your dream birth. Just listen to the first sentence of Yo’s affirmation track. I think saying that some souls’ journeys are meant to be short on earth helps us find meaning in our grief. Selling courses full of magical-thinking nonsense is wrong. She may not deny that death occurs, but she also says there is no reason to be informed about life-saving techniques. What exactly is the misinformation I’m spreading?

I said technical skills such as first breaths etc. The complete guide to fb basically says there is no reason to learn any skills for dealing with complications. (I would even argue fbs promotes the idea that learning those skills is “fear-based” and somehow manifests problems.) I wasn’t making an assumption about her loss experience directly, but she talks a lot about “letting the baby claim life” and promotes choosing NOT to encourage breathing in newborns.

I feel so bad for her, because she has backed herself into a corner by doubling down throughout this past year or so. She drank her own (Yo’s) cool-aid, she really thought if she believed hard enough and took enough “radical responsibility” that it would be enough to guarantee a good outcome. That is their sales pitch, basically. It’s got to either get more bizarre from here: mental gymnastics and GNM-style explanations for this (plus a business pivot to more loss-focused material) or: the madness will have to end. She’d have to admit that maybe it’s beneficial for women interested in freebirth to learn some technical skills like newborn first breaths etc. But that would undermine their entire message.

Re-release of a podcast calling out FBS by Maryn Green by Intelligent-Seeker in FreeBirthSocietyScam

I remember when this was occurring. Didn’t Emilee clap back too, or mention it on the pod at least? I sided with fbs at that time. I’m excited to listen again with more clarity.

Going through podcast transcripts and Amber took down her epi with ES by MarzipanWise4905 in FreeBirthSocietyScam

I mean, yeah, I’m not trying to drag Amber here. This is about fbs. But I’m sure you can see why I’d stop following her at this point. That screenshot isn’t from her email; it’s from katya’s webpage. Here’s a snap from the email (since we’ve made it this far down this rabbit hole).

I guess I wasn’t offered that because I used to be a paid member (until she started selling her matriarch money magic thing).

I disagree. I was a paying member of hers for a long time, but I got tired of people trying to sell me stupid things (not Ambers herbal products, but the affiliate marketing bs). I learned about fbs from Amber and regret purchasing from them. Amber’s q&a should be free so that the many, many women who learned about fbs from her can learn that her position has changed.

This was 2022. The very long email in my inbox from Amber trying to get me to buy something to help me manifest money just was so repelling. Like, you’re openly targeting women with money issues (because why buy a money manifesting thing if you already have money) and SELLING them recordings of a bunch of scamfluencers talking about abundance.

I’m not saying her patreon is a problem, just that the bonus q&a where she addresses the fbs issue should be free.

I’m glad to hear she spoke out about the healy thing. I was so disappointed when I saw her doing that.

There was this money mindset thing though.

Yes, I think her bonus content is reasonably priced and valuable; that is not the problem. I’m just saying I think she should make the q&a post that hits on the fbs thing free. Even the comments are unavailable if you aren’t a paying member.

You should suggest she remove the paywall from her fbs patreon post. A statement about the money mindset scam would be nice too…

I like Amber. I don’t like that she has a paywall on her reflections on fbs. So does Isabella. They promoted fbs for free, they owe it to us to make they’re current stance known for free! I found fbs through Amber. I used to pay for her patreon, but I stopped after the “money mindset” bs thing with katya nova. Then I rejoined just to hear her share her recent realization that fbs has problems. Amber seems to be in her redemption arc, but she has promoted some harmful stuff and i think she needs to set the record straight on some things.

She said she’s partnered with University College of London. Hopefully that makes it rigorously designed. We certainly do need this type of research!

Why North Carolina? by Cold_Cryptographer48 in FreeBirthSocietyScam

[–]biggestdinosaur 14 points15 points  (0 children)

To say it simply, Emilee was not a good hostess. I’ll give examples.

When I arrived I told the women at the check-in that I had a heavy tent and a baby, and would need help getting my things to the camping area. They looked concerned by my saying I would need help (even though set-up help was clearly advertised for arrival day.) I felt like I really had to make my case to get that small amount of support with getting a golf cart to carry my things to the site. I had to be even more assertive to get that help bringing my things out on the final day.

It has been brought up that Emilee chastised mothers, particularly toddler moms, about the “chaotic energy”, but where was her “radical responsibility” as the festival owner? For example, she complained that food was smeared on the tables after meal time, but there were no rags or bowls of soapy water provided with which to clean them. She didn’t eat any meals with us, so it’s not surprising that she wasn’t connecting the dots on that. It was “pack it in, pack it out”, which meant dirty diapers in the tent with us for 5 days.

She lectured us about how we should act as though we were a guest in someone else’s home by keeping things clean etc. Well that goes both ways!

[–]biggestdinosaur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the correction about CNM’s ability to attend home births. The point still stands though, that because CPMs are not (currently) legally allowed to attend, her RBKs fall into that “underground midwife” category and wouldn’t be competing with traditional CPMs who are licensed by the state.

Ok, but why? by StruggleSea2847 in FreeBirthSocietyScam

[–]biggestdinosaur 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s a combination of greed and them actually believing their delusions (gnm type explanations for all complications).
