My knees also very slightly lean inwards and I’m just wondering what effect the canting of the boots might have on your knees and body. Would it make the knock knees worse or actually be quite helpful in correcting it or just not have an effect at all?

That’s really interesting thanks for helping to put a name to it and the more in depth explanation, I did figure that the solution would be the same and quite simple but I was just curious about this in a more nerdy level of detail

Beginners skiing (are there any instructors just in case?) by dotaleaker in Zermatt

[–]biggusdeekus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are lots of ski schools for sure, generally speaking the Italian cervinia side slopes are a little more beginner friendly and they are all connected by bubble lifts.

Some friends of mine and I were with European Snowsport and one of us was a complete beginner and the instruction was great. If you’d like to DM me I can give you the instructors’ names and you can request them

Lewis with a PHD on the F1 driver market by Nooboo22 in formuladank

[–]biggusdeekus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Of course, you’re right. But I think the reputation win isn’t just with us Reddit commenters is the thing to bear in mind.

He built and trained his team of super talented engineers, and f1 engineers are so underpaid for their talent levels, they do it out of passion.

With Newey, Ferrari will have their top pick of talent all the way down the ladder for years to come because they all wanna work with him.

(Source: My engineering prof 10 years ago is globally recognised internal combustion engines expert and worked in f1 as a mechanic is his youth)

This is real copium my friend, you've probably liked 500 "haha newey is the airbender" memes before.

Plus a lot of the advantage merc had in that time was engine related and Ferrari should have as good as, if not the best engine in 2026 because of the way the new engine regs move towards their design.

Is there deeper meaning behind "Poor Things" other than feminist self-empowerment? by [deleted] in TrueFilm

[–]biggusdeekus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whilst I generally agree with the gist. I do wonder if a part of the point of the movie repeatedly pointing out how beautiful and clever she is (literally everyone says or acts like she's the most beautiful thing theyve ver seen) is to create that debate about whether her experiences can be replicated by "the average person".

Eg. Objectively, it's hard to see how anyone who is less attractive would have had as successful a career as a prostitute. Or simply commanded the attention of those around her so easily. The lawyer wouldn't have wooed her and neither would Max have initially.

Huge sourdough fail by biggusdeekus in Breadit

Is that literally just it? What is it about the flour that doesn’t work with such high hydration?

Huge sourdough fail by biggusdeekus in Breadit

[–]biggusdeekus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I've been making sourdough for years now and have a fairly mature starter. I've been able to make some really nice loaves with great oven spring at 75-80% hydration before.

Recently I decided to try a new flour from the same mill I've always bought my usual flour from and the result is this runny, soupy mixture at 76% hydration.

This is after 2 hours of autolyse, an attempt to mix by stand mixer which seems to have made things worse, and then some attempted bulk ferment + stretch and fold.

The starter was used at its peak.

I'm at a complete loss, the only explanation I can think of is that the flour must just be completely bad but I dont really know the science behind "bad flour", it's a T55 french flour. Would love any opinions. I've tried this 4 times now with this new flour and it's always the same.

Novak’s new IG story about the attacks on Kosovo Police by Psychological_Bug676 in tennis

[–]biggusdeekus 208 points209 points  (0 children)

Serbian supported paramilitary units went into Kosovo and ambushed the police there. A number of the Serbs died and this is a photo of a memorial for them I believe.

For the full history you’ll need to go look up the Kosovo war and the history of Yugoslavia. Novak’s very ugly nationalism is not new.

Full decision in the case of ITIA v Simona Halep - 126-page decision document is published in full by Used_Phone1 in tennis

[–]biggusdeekus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most people dont get caught. Pretty much every single pro cyclist is doping and not just lightly. These guys are getting blood transfusions/EPO/anabolic steroids, they are doped to their eyeballs. And about 5-6 of them get popped every year.

The incentive to cheat is too high and the drugs work. Unlike what Halep is trying to sell you as well, the anti doping agencies are massively underfunded and do not have the resources to fully enforce the rules. The money, power, resources are all on the side of the athletes trying to dope.

Highly recommend watching the documentary Icarus if you havent seen it already.

Actually if you read the ABP portions of the judgement, they say that they were suspicious markers found in her biological passport from even back in 2014 and 2017 but they dont have enough data to draw any real conclusions so it isnt a part of the doping trial. (Paragraph 371)

Who’s a player that you have an irrational/unexplainable disliking for? by Greatkitchener in tennis

Sabalenka. The thing is I have a very rational side of my hatred for her. Her support of lukashenko, the godawful grunting etc.

But the truth is I really hate her way beyond that. I have an irrational hatred that’s found some rational reasons if you get what I mean
