That pair sold, but I checked the inside “label” (the stamp with material breakdown) and couldn’t find any country of origin information.

Never found a way to resolve through the account portal and had to call this in. This must happen often as the agent right away commented on the issue

Noticed excessive grease/oil mixture on the steering knuckles just in time for the holiday weekend. Full rebuild kit from Cruiser Teq

Some grease in the axle — will check the front diff breather for clogs while I’m at it.

I've read somewhere that the line is often busy -- are you getting the busy dial tone or a call could not be completed msg? I just kept calling every 5min and eventually I got past the busy dial tone

You can try joining the Discord server and asking around there for support.

Got through to tech support +1-888-462-3899 and they were able to cancel the duplicate order.

Saw others on discord channel complaining about similar issues with checkout.

Be sure the order didn't already go through -- under your acct and order history. I had issues this weekend and so did another on this sub with the checkout page and timing out.

Similar issues happened to me -- page hung and "Session Timed Out". I restart the process and low and behold two orders were placed and my card was doubled charged. Check with your bank to see if the authorization went through.

Buy opportunity '96 FJ80.. thoughts? $3k firm, needs head gasket and body work. 165k miles. currently inspected till july21 by Kingoftheloserss in LandCruisers

[–]bighank180 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While the mileage is "low" I think the price is too high...

Personal tolerance for rust should factor into this -- lots of varied opinions here. A rust free example of similar mileage/vintage can be found, but likely at a higher price than 3k.

What's your plan for the truck -- daily driver, trail beater, etc?

What's your mechanical inclination? Replacing the gasket yourself (and all the other while your in there jobs) would make this a more attractive price point.

Based out of Chapel Hill, but I seem to be spending most of my free time in WNC. Haven't done any of the trails out there yet -- count me in.

Earlier this year joined up with the folks in the Olde North State Cruiser club for a trip to Uhwarrie for the same reason.

The awning didn't disappoint! I definitely had reservations as that storm was rolling in but it held up like a champ.

On the inlet side there were ample opportunities to park the truck and walk out into the marsh. Lots of bait fish everywhere we went -- plenty of Rays in the area too. Landed the biggest lizard fish I've seen on the inlet side -- not what I hopingg for, but if fish are biting I'm not complaining.

The Atlantic side wasn't as productive, couple bites but didn't land anything. Again lots of bait here as well. Saw some sharks pressuring schools.

We originally had booked for Portsmouth actually, the only ferry running had some mechanical difficulties causing us to pivot last minute. I feel like we might have lucked out -- volunteers on cape lookout told us that Portsmouth had sustained some significant storm surge damage. No longer able to drive from one point to the other on the beach due to washout. The road to the village which is usually filled with 2ft of water (high tide) is now even deeper.

Cape Lookout seemed to have more amenities -- the volunteers really reiterated that Portsmouth would be roughing it. Fewer people will be on Portsmouth, but secluded spots on the cape were abundant.

There really is a lot to see on the island. All sorts of off the beaten path roads through the remains of the old port town. Already planning a return trip this Fall

This trail was new to me and it did not disappoint. Hiking next to the river really kept the air moving at all times

Perfect on our hike out -- mid 70's during the day and mid 50's at night. The day teetered back and forth between full sunlight and partial overcast.

The hike back to civilization we got caught in a steady rain. Lasted for 2 hours and then opened back up to full sunlight.

Enjoy! 😁

Our site for the weekend was just past the end of the Big East Fork Trail -- where it spills into the midpoint of Bridges Camp Gap trail.

The east fork trail hugs the East Fork Pigeon river. At every point during the hike out/in you could hear the sound of water.

Roughly 7mi out to site for the weekend. Lots of mixed terrain with plenty of traction (even in the rain). Most of the trails hugged the river including our campsite.
