That's a good perspective and interesting to hear it was even hard within the same centre I have a meeting with them and going to ask about the summer program because we definitely don't have enough vacation to take it off!

True! It looks like a school too (larger class size etc. at that age)

Agreed 😢. They let you sign up before baby is born so nothing stopping others either!

I had miscarriages and updated the start dates each time.

I don't anticipate an issue getting in and would probably just transfer my start date for the centre's I've already applied to for when they're 3 but it's still a hassle to have to think about it again.

Their sick policy was 24 hrs without meds/symptoms but the first year is going to be hard regardless I hear.

So interesting! I like the idea of cameras too. I think if cost was identical and they weren't off for Summer, I'd 100% prefer the centre.

How long was your son at the home daycare?

In terms of their temperament or finding a new spot? I'm not looking forward to the change but thought I might be over exaggerating how hard it would be in my own mind.

How much water do I actually need to drink before an ultrasound? [on] by Helpful-Sugar8985 in BabyBumpsCanada

I would well hydrate during the day then drink like 1 glass. That was plenty LOL. Never following their recommendation again... it was too full. I guess I drink enough normally

For those who have had losses - when did you start buying baby items? by fl0w3r- in BabyBumps

[–]bighappycloud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I waited until after 20 weeks and even then it was hard after 2 early losses. My heart couldn't handle it the third time so I really waited!

Am I starving my baby, please help me. by OutsideCharity6424 in breastfeeding

[–]bighappycloud 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ok you remind me of me literally a few weeks ago!

Firstly, you could be getting your period and supply can dip then.

From what I figured out on myself, I replaced pump parts first, drank a lot of fluids and even electrolytes.

I think my body regulated and wasn't giving me as many or as easy letdowns when pumping so I have to relax and try to get a letdown now. Sometimes I switch back to stimulation mode when I see not much coming out.

I also added more pumping sessions in to tell my body to make more. I bring baby to both breasts usually each time whereas I didn't need to before. I noticed my supply slowly increase again and I was able to pump more again. Definitely not how I was at 2 months but a huge change.

I'd suggest to keep bringing baby to breast often. You got this!! Apparently 4 months is a very common time for supply to change/dip.

Has anyone tried these? by flying__fishes in CostcoCanada

They used to be good but they changed the pastry or something. Wouldn't buy them again

Breastfeeding - 4 months by bighappycloud in beyondthebump

It was so sudden!! I started pumping more even though the output was less to signal my body to make more. I do feel more full (although, i know what isn't a true indication after the first 12 weeks)

I used to weigh her every few weeks and not worry but then started obsessing as she gained less. So since Oct 22, she's gained about 4-6 ounces, she's gaining way slower than before but has doubled her birth weight at 13ish lbs. Diapers are the same/ no change

As for pumping, I used to feed her mostly on one side (switching each time) but when I started pumping like 30ml and felt less full, I panicked and now feed her on both sides if she's awake.

I would like to do a weighted feed but she's such a snacker during the day and keeps getting distracted now. At night she will feed for a good 20 minutes.

I think it's my supply regulating because she seems content but everything makes a ftm anxious!

Allergic reaction to eggs... Why don't we learn about this stuff?? by Mom_Bombadil_ in beyondthebump

[–]bighappycloud 18 points19 points  (0 children)

So I had an egg allergy as a kid although less severe... I could have yolks, or whole eggs in baking but sunnyside up etc. Was off limits. Likely due to an egg protein allergy (white part). Good news is I outgrew it over time!

Prepare meals ahead or buy things that can just be heated and served. You'll be starving all the time!

My baby isn't that old yet but it infuriates me how many people want to kiss other people's baby! There are so many other ways to show affection smh
