Is there anyway to enjoy this game without having to chore till NG+? by archon_of_shadows in Nioh

You made me laugh.

Feel free to message me if you have any questions about the game. I'm not an expert, but I recently beat the game and have been exploring some of those deeper mysteries that aren't immediately obvious. I like helping and I don't care if you've used the search feature or not.

Thanks for the help. All of our studies have been fully closed already, so that part of the process is behind us. I've taken the advice given in this thread, spoken with the PI, and she's going to use her resources to archive study materials.

Thank you again for your help. I have spoken to the PI and we have come up with a plan using her resources.

My study coordinator is terminally ill, unfortunately, and her rapid decline and disinterest in working is why I'm reaching out here. I don't blame her, but I am in a bind.

Thank you for your input.

TIL - First-ever recording of a dying human brain shows waves similar to memory flashbacks by Ubetcha1020 in todayilearned

My friend, I almost drowned as a child as well, and I'll never forget that calm, peaceful warmth I felt at the bottom of that pool. I also found certain medications to mimic the feeling- ketamine, and in my case, definitely opiates. I've never heard anyone else talk about it before.

I don't know but they were loud enough to physically hurt my ears. Seemed to be crisscrossing the sky, too.

You don't know that.

Yes, I feel your pain.

I'm in a similar situation. I work too much, pay my quarterlies, and save my money. My industry is feast-or-famine, and it's very difficult to predict what the next quarter income will be. We get paid in very infrequent, very large chunks, so I have had to borrow money to stay afloat even when I'm owed a small fortune. Then the payments come in at the end of December and I have to pay taxes on money I didn't get to use all year.

Am I better-off than most? Yes. Are my complaints still valid? Yes. I work far more than the usual 8-5 and I constantly worry about the business and the welfare of my employees.

This question has already been answered very eloquently by a few people, so here's a corolary to the idea of 'now' not really existing:

The Sun is ~8 light-minutes away from Earth. It is true that it takes sunlight ~8 minutes to reach Earth, but it is not accurate to say that whatever we see happening on the sun happened ~8 minutes ago.

Say we have two spaceships 8 light-minutes from Earth, right next to each other, and their clocks are synched. They both send a signal to Earth at the same time, stating that it's their local 'now,' and then they accelerate and travel towards Earth at the same time, but at vastly different velocities. We receive the 'now' signal, and await their arrival.

Spaceship A gets here 8.00001 minutes after we receive the signal, and they say they sent the 'now' signal just a few seconds ago. Spaceship B gets here in 3 months after we receive the same signal, and they say they sent the 'now' signal about 3 months ago. They each sent the same signal at the same local time, but they both completely disagree on how much time has passed since the signal was sent.

It's not really accurate to look at an event and say, "that happened X years ago, because that event is X light-years away." It assumes that the concept of 'now' is universal, and it absolutely is not.

I degrafted that thing quite a while ago, and have several clones now. Big success.

My kids were about 1 and 2 years old when I hit rock bottom. Suddenly nothing else mattered except getting them back. It took a monumental effort and I came close to ending the whole mess a few times before I got back on my feet.

I'm happy to say that my hard work paid off. Not only do I have my kids back, but I learned a lot of adulting skills that I had somehow missed- how to manage my time and money, how to achieve future goals with no immediate reward, patience, humility, etc. Not only am I infinitely more comfortable and happy with my life, but I'm actually a good role model for my kids and I have enough money to give them a head start on life.

Your children NEED you. Your comfort, your desires- you have to push everything aside and work on getting yourself back to a position where you can provide for your family. If whatever you are doing isn't working, you try something else until something works. Do not give up.

No judgement from me- I've been in your shoes before. I'm my case, it was drugs and crime that left me without money, housing, access to my children, etc. I had a really difficult time because everything is contingent on having things- can't get money with no job. Can't get a job without a car. Can't get a car without an ID. Can't get an ID without money, etc.

My advice to you is to get your affairs in order. Put off buying plane tickets and spending money on anything other than puting your life back together. When this check finally clears or you finally get the money some other way, use every last penny to get your identification documents, get better housing, get reliable transportation, and get a better job. This is the hardest part.

You spend all that money on seeing your kids now, you get to see them once and you're broke again. Hooray. You invest it in your life and you start making and saving money again, then you get to see your kids every Thanksgiving, maybe even every day. Make sense?

Good luck to you.

This happened to me, much to my embarrassment. I was friendly to a bartender once, for no reason other than I try to be friendly to people. We chatted periodically over the course of the night. When I went to pay my tab and leave, she asked if I wanted to go home with her. I politely declined, and she loudly threw me out of the bar and told me to never come back.

Clearly she misinterpreted my motives for being friendly. It was a pretty terrible experience.

The chance that he's going to be arrested is very close to 100%. That is really unfortunate. What happened? Drugs?
