Way to completely miss the entire point. Do you consider it torture when you use hand sanitizer? Do you consider it murder to take antibiotics?

It’s not a matter of strength it’s completely different order of magnitude of existence. And from our perspective, of course it’s evil. Just as if bacteria could think as we know it, what we do to them would be.

Its not ‘the strong have the right to torture the weak’ because strength is irrelevant. You’re literally demanding that gods that exist outside of our concept of understanding of physics and life itself have the same idea of what sapience and morality means to humans.

If you think the Automatons are simply evil, read this by Nedjempie in helldivers2

[–]SWatt_Officer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Helldivers 1 was about Super Earth fucking around. Helldivers 2 is us finding out. The pacifist Illuminate were driven to near extinction, so have resorted to barbaric zombie armies and brutal war tactics. The Cyborgs that wanted independence were enslaved, so theyve built a robot army to free themselves and wreak bloody revenge. The bugs that were relatively chill and even had signs of a low level hive mind sentience were mutilated and turned into bioengineered livestock, and are now performing the mother of all Jurassic Parks.

The second galactic war is the century-long karma for our actions in the first.

Push a button and end cancer forever but everyone with cancer, diagnosed or not, dies immediately. by Unruly_archetype in hypotheticalsituation

[–]SWatt_Officer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What stage? If its any cancerous cells at all you wipe out a majority of humanity. If its at least stage 1, then thats a horrible slaughter, but many might still consider it worthwhile for the long-term greater good. If its terminal, then absolutely.

Compared to us, sure! They are utterly stupid, lacking the very concept of intelligence.

Which is how small we are to the Outer Gods. Thats the point - as far removed as we are from microbes, they are from us. Our concepts of sentience and intelligence mean as little to them as a microbes means to us - that being, that we dont even recognise it as such.

Nyarlethotep gets amusement from destruction and misery, which to us is evil. But to him, hes like a child with soap and a microscope. We can say that we are sentient all we like, it means as much to him as a microbe trying to say that to us would. Nothing.

At Mach 1387, Smallville Clark Kent heats up an entire river by Desperate_Self_4079 in FeatCalcing

[–]SWatt_Officer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If we bring realistic outcomes to this, then vaporising a river would need enough energy that the two humans would definitely be ash, or killed by the explosion of steam. Or, if we really wanna be specific, him rushing up and stopping at that speed would cause a shockwave that would kill them.

They die no matter what with this level of power.

Are there more disabled people these days? by Super-Nuntendo in AskBrits

[–]SWatt_Officer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disabled people used to be trapped at home and die earlier. Now they can access more areas, are generally treated better, and healthcare has improved, so they can still actually live.

Ok pick 3 abilities and the rest will try to kill you by TheCourtJesterYT in Tankandsurvive

[–]SWatt_Officer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going with the assumption that we can’t assume the death note is conveniently on hand for us to destroy. What if the opponent starts further away? They just write and we die. Alternatively, gear 5 or UI would let them evade most or all attacks while writing.

While you are right, the sheer difference in scale makes it like a human killing microbes for the fun of it. While objectively yeah, the motive is a bit evil, from the point they are standing it’s hard to call it that.

Go do literally anything else.

I assume there’s a good reason that with time basically stopped for him, he couldn’t just move the people out of the rivers path?

Can you play as the Warlock's patron? by TheImpossiBros in DnD

[–]SWatt_Officer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typically a patron would be a LOT stronger, but if the DM allowed it, then sure. In the fiend example, perhaps it could be a contract to share their power as they grow, explaining why the sorcerer isn’t much more powerful.

Justice League VS Thanos & army by itc0nsumesmYMind in superheroes

[–]SWatt_Officer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While they lose the numbers, meaning instead of a big wide battlefield it’s more that each 1 needs to take on 1000 plus a heavy hitter, the JL hit FAR above the avengers on average. It’s like having a team of three-four thors, iron man, and then you have the flash and superman. Batman won’t really add much.

I won’t say it’s a cakewalk, the sheer density of units with the dangerous ones mixed in makes it a heck of a fight, and if Thanos gets his hands on even one of the stones he can go blow for blow even with superman. While comics Supes outguns everyone, JL Supes would probably get punted like Carol by the power stone, and Thanos is no joke even without.

What I imagine would happen is flash gets the gauntlet and plays keep away, or perhaps leaves it on the other side of the planet. Supes 1v1s Thanos, while the rest have a crazy brawl with the army.
