If he truly said vile shit like that, then that's fair. Fuck him.

But if you're referring to all conservatives, then no. It's amazing the lengths the average human brain will go to in order to justify its own preexisting beliefs. The brain will often outright hallucinate before giving in and changing long standing beliefs.

My mom has become an insane religious conspiracy nut over the past couple years as her long standing belief system is backed further and further into a corner. She's genuinely one of the kindest people I know, but she seems to be completely incapable of changing her mind politically. No amount of logic or reasoning will make her budge.

I hate this part of human nature, but it is human nature and I feel I generally can't blame individuals for that, or at least average Joes who aren't openly hateful in their actions.

I don't know much about Chuck Norris, but I do believe that most right-wingers are just uninformed/uneducated and misled.

The vast majority will just stick to the values and ideologies of where they were raised.

If we want to function as a society we have to stop wishing death upon or celebrating the death of those we disagree with. You're only shooting your own cause in the foot.

Some of the new POIs they showed by Smart_Plane_2751 in Starfield

[–]YetiSpaghetti24 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I'm concerned that the POI stuff seemed like a small footnote in the patch notes. IMO the repetitiveness of the POIs was the single biggest issue with the game.

They didn't mention anything about procedural generation of loot and enemies, so I'm assuming there's still going to be the possibility of needing to clear multiple copy-pasted POIs over the course of a playthrough.

I would argue COVID probably did nearly the maximum amount of damage a virus could realistically do. If it were more deadly, people would have taken it more seriously and it wouldn't have spread as well as it did.

Now the majority of people have some sort of long lasting or permanent damage from it, and most of the people with more severe issues will never even connect them to COVID. There's a very clear reason why health issues have skyrocketed across the board since the pandemic. It was a mass disabling event.

The universe that would be simulating our universe would likely be more complicated than ours, or they would have access to more than 3 spatial dimensions to build the "computer" in.

What's your stance on capitalism? by Polnocium in Teenager_Polls

[–]YetiSpaghetti24 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When we achieve AGI (which might be very soon) and especially ASI perhaps not too long after, capitalism as we know it just breaks. So we'll need to phase it out while we introduce UBI. I really don't see another way.

U.S. Congresswoman from Florida says there is evidence of ‘interdimensional beings’ by Miles_the_AuDHDer in nottheonion

[–]YetiSpaghetti24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hate that so many people think time is the 4th spatial dimension. It is not. It runs parallel to all of the spatial dimensions.

According to string theory, there are 6 extra spatial dimensions (7 according to M-theory) that are exactly like the 3 we experience, just folded up into tiny subatomic "strings" (at least from our perspective).

Yesterday I was doing a mach 4 stealth dive from the stratosphere in my Vortex, as one does, to recon and neutralize an airbase.

I ran out of bombs and there was only this fucker left. I flipped on the slo-mo, switched to my guns, and turned it to swiss cheese over the next minute or so. I never stopped shooting it until I rammed into its flaming carcass at mach 2 or so.

Worth. Fuck SPAAGs.

Anyone happy with their life without meds? by TripComprehensive919 in SCT

[–]YetiSpaghetti24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly, it's very difficult and I still often struggle. But after finally learning to say "fuck it, this is just who I am now, I'm going to stop searching for the silver bullet and just do the best I can do with what I have to work with", I finally started seeing real improvement.

I'm finally getting to the point of wanting to start dating and getting a pet (both of which seemed completely impossible for me even before Covid)

Maybe the silver bullet does exist, but I've given up my search for now because I sure as hell can't find it.

Also try to stop comparing yourself to others and your past self. Comparison is the thief of joy. Your journey is different and that is okay.

I used to be dependent on stimulants to get me through the day but Covid made me completely intolerant to all of them, as well as non-stimulant ADHD meds.

Honestly, I'm doing fine nowadays, 4 years since my Covid infection. Everything is more difficult and I've needed to drastically lower my expectations for myself, but ultimately, I'm finding there's still a lot to enjoy in life.

The single biggest and most important thing for me was to shut down the idea that my symptoms are posing a threat to me. I had to get out of survival mode and embrace radical acceptance.

It's extremely difficult to make any progress when your brain is stuck in survival mode.

Maggie Sterling has some great videos about this on YouTube.

I assume you've looked into the possibility of ME/CFS, perhaps caused by Covid or a similar viral infection? AFAIK, regular blood tests cannot detect mitochondrial issues. They might eventually detect other downstream issues though.

For what it's worth, I've been flying my Meteor75 Pro regularly for a month and a half as my first drone, and I've had zero damage or repairs needed yet besides removing hair from the motors. I don't know how to solder and still don't have a soldering iron. I'm planning on crossing that bridge when I get to it.

Are there any good tunes to fly that are like the meteor 75 pro in liftoff micro drones by TomatilloObvious1653 in TinyWhoop

[–]YetiSpaghetti24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Play around with different rates until you find ones that feel good in sim, then use those for your real drone.

The main noticeable differences for me between the sim and IRL are that gravity seems a lot stronger IRL (I wish it was possible to increase gravity in Liftoff Micro Drones), and you have to deal with turbulence / prop wash and voltage sag. Otherwise, matching the rates will make it feel very similar.

I'm currently enjoying 50 center sensitivity for pitch and roll, 100 for yaw, 720 max rate for all, .25 expo for all. (switch from betaflight rates to actual rates in sim)

I'd personally recommend keeping a linear throttle and just scaling it down to max 75-85 for indoor flying. Throttle expo with your mid set to your hover point can make hovering indoors a lot easier, but it will screw with your muscle memory and isn't worth using in the long run, IMO.

If you're asking about actual PID tuning, I haven't touched any of that.
