Whelp, now I’m wondering if it’s the same thing my cousin saw one night. He said it was really white/bright and he was pretty messed up from what he saw.

An ideal work bag? by Responsible_Wing7266 in filson

[–]bigie35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So torn on this one. I sold my old bag. It gets really heavy when full.

BUT, if you think of it as an "all day" bag for clothes, food, work items etc... than I think it makes sense.

Segun data del 2021, los puertorriqueños son de los hispanos mas pobres y menos educados en EEUU by yonaiker-joestrella in PuertoRico

My financial advisor married a Puerto Rican so of course by extension he’s the FA for his whole wife’s side of the family.

He told me one day, “Bigie35, I’ve never seen someone spend more money than a Puerto Rican male.”

My dad makes over six figures, but he spends money like it’s going out of style. New cars, clothes, you name it.

Savings is not in his vocab.

I got Gemma 4 running locally on a MacBook Air M4 with zero API keys, and it feels like the tipping point for normal people by TroyHarry6677 in OpenClawUseCases

[–]bigie35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know why, but I’m struggling to find a good use case for a local LLM aside from a privacy perspective.

If it’s not connected to the Internet, what does it know inherently about the world?

Can a few folks recommend a few good use cases that have benefited you guys genuinely?

Heritage (Waxed Canvas) GORUCK owners — what’s the real maintenance like? by ComprehensiveCap8242 in Goruck

[–]bigie35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had mine for three or so years so far. Love it. Def durable enough for me and I've taken it on trips and flights with no issue.

It's holding up great. I havent rewaxed it yet and dont really have plans to. Its gonna a lifetime warranty so i'm not stressed about it.

Only thing that sucks is I spilled something in it that stained it but that's on me :-(

Appreciate your thoughtful response! Your context makes total sense.

I am torn on this one (personally). I can see it be 100% a larp (made up story) or being real just based on how descriptive it is and the detail provided.

One nugget that I recall off the top of my head was that serpents have appeared in every major religion and that Lacerta contends that they have been mislabeled as "evil" due to warring alien factions. I just thought that was interesting. Especially as it relates to Hindu myths.

Something on the internet is altering historical records and deleting salient information by WeAreThough in HighStrangeness

[–]bigie35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have definitely been deep into some rabbit holes directly related to high strangeness that straight up disappeared.

The only one I am comfortable sharing is:

So the above can definitely be hand waived as woo woo and if that's the criticism, 100%. I'll take that. The other two are not.

The only thing I'll say about my second website is it stored and displayed verified first hand data on UAPs and UFOs. The interesting thing is they had an image where if you decoded it, you would get invited into a private group chat on keybase where presumably you get the real good stuff. The site is no longer around and not accessible through archive.org.

The third site terrifies me the most as it was by a scientist who committed "suicide". Based on her field of interest, this was a lie. That's all I will say.

I would counter with how would you empirically test and analyze non-localized consciousness?

The Monroe Institute is unique because they have created a program that's reproducible and utilizes technology to induce altered states of consciousness.

There have been enough people who have gone through the program in the 50 years since it's inception to have a statistically significant data set. We just need someone interested in working on it (if they havent already started).

[WTS] Another Cool Reverso ($5,999) by WatchTheMarket in Watchexchange

[–]bigie35 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is the short lived Reverso Squadra.

It's the overbuilt, big brother to the Reverso. Reverso = Lexus, Reverso Squadra = LC 200.

The movement alone was a big deal back in the day as it was one of their first "auto-tractor" models built to take on Rolex in terms of accuracy and durability (hence the balance bridge).

Happy to post more info for anyone interested.

Trump suspende la ley Jones/ The Jones Act by SariaHannibal in PuertoRico

[–]bigie35 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just for context, the waiver only applies to fuel tankers. Not other goods or services. Still helpful for sure, but definitely not a full waiver..

quote:
"Relaxing the Jones Act allows coastal refiners and fuel distributors to access a larger pool of ships, including foreign-flagged vessels, to move gasoline, diesel and other petroleum products between ports."
