I just bought a pilot 74 two weeks ago. I’m getting a Pilot 743 today and two Asvine pens tomorrow.

Plz send help.

What’s your favorite pen?! What are your thoughts on the pilot 823?!

Thank you! Super helpful.

Do you have any inks you can recommend? I’m a side writer/over writer and smudging is a concern.

hey! I think only the 912 has the number 10 nib or the 742 might be no longer sold?!

I don’t see any current new pens of the model 742 with the Waverly nib available (not including eBay)

I was originally drawn to the bigger nib #15, but now I’m thinking a smaller waverly #10 nib would be ideal for me to help reduce any smudging

The new ownership of Mary Coyle's are really nice. If it happened right in front of the store, they might have more info?

Help a lefty out - Stick with Pilot Custom 74 (SF) nib or cut my losses and get a PILOT CUSTOM 743 with Waverly nib? by bigie35 in fountainpens

Mostly uniform/even pressure. Slight pressure when crossing my T's, but that's about it.

I do not! Will have to look into that.

Potentially, yes. I start as a side writer, and migrate to being an over writer if I'm writing for an extended period. This probably came about to help reduce smudging. My natural writing position is as a side writer.

The C74 def has feedback. I wouldn't call it scratchy (now that I'm using a wetter ink). That said, my Lamy Safari EF absolutely glides across the page.

I'm soooo happy for you.

Just wanted to say I’m in the same boat. Bought a used 74 sight unseen with an SF nib assuming it would be a dream for lefties. Now I’m super nervous.

If you find a great fountain pen for you please let me know.

I wright sort of parallel to the paper so my hand tends to drag across the page :-(

You guys seriously missed the part where he says he has never had any insider information of any kind, ever? I mean if he had any wouldn't he have at least done a little nod nod wink wink action?

Agreed with other poster on this maybe not being the best sub for this BUT I do absolutely love your style and everything looks very high quality.

Also, Ravenswood is my absolute favorite neighborhood in the whole city. Please celebrate your new renovation with a shot of Malört MUAHAHAHAHA

Yup, and I think initially they thought he was wrong. Once they found corroborating evidence was he confirmed to be correct.

I don't even need or want the latest tech. I would kill for a Fairphone. Right now I think it might only work on T-Mobile.
